Massie appointed at Glenelg for 2 years

Postby bayman » Wed Sep 14, 2011 11:13 pm

did i hear right !!!! i was at work & only heard bits & pieces of the sports show but did they say the bay coaching applicants are (in no particular order)

Darren Mead
Andrew Rogers
Kris Massie
Andrew Jarman
& a vfl coach

not a great list really, Mead (no thanks, doesn't seem to have the respect at coaching by port, port supporters yes but not the club), Rogers (apparently applied for wwt & missed out at his own club, enough said), Massie (we know what we're getting, as for his coaching ability at LEAGUE LEVEL well the jury's still out imho), Jarman (would be good for 2-3 years but like at north he would turn sour) as for the vfl coach well without knowing who it is how can you comment)

it'd be fair to say without disrespecting any of them, mickan would have better qualifications than these men (barring maybe the vfl coach if we knew who he was)
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

Pretty ordinary list there, surely Glenelg can do better than any of those on the list.

Very concerning for the Bays if that's it. Mead is who the GFC board wanted to coach the reserves a few years ago where Mickan put his foot down to demand it didn't happen. Was the initial cause of his fallout with the president. Hopefully now he has departed they aren't thinking of giving him the senior role.

Maybe nobody wants the job they don't want to be sacked halfway though a season which the bays have a habit of doing

Surprised the bays haven't been looking at Central reserves coach Jeff Brown, he has a pretty impressive record of his reserves boys being able to step up and play league and throughout his time he has had some very very very young sides.

I feel sick. Having known many North players professional and personal opinion of Jarman... and what they went through under his reign at Prospect.... the "prospect" makes me feel violently ill.
I'll take Mead over that... and thats saying something.

Is the VFL coach possibly Peter German?

I think he was linked to the North job before Healy got it when he did.

Well stop lurking outside his office at Pecker Park.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!
