Why is it Brighton this year have proved to be a force once again & people like you "ol man emu" think that $ money$ plays a BIG HAND IN THAT?
I bet your boys pay more money than Brighton.
Actually i'd guarantee that.
I hope they smash you blokes next week & i suppose if they do its the salary cap thats caused it?

Heard similar. They may be using their status as a affiliated Metro South Club to gain an advantage as a SFL Club.

The question is, how can they have players registered and playing in both competitions on the same weekend.

Just throwing a theory out there for discussion......

IF Edwardstown do get disqualified based on the SFL own rulings from last year (U18 mvale vs cove) shouldn't Mvale become automatic Premiers without having to play???

Last year Cove were awarded the premiership without having to play any other club that m vale had played and won against whilst they should have ALREADY been disqualified they WERE handed a premiership while 3 other clubs were not given an opportunity to play.

I will guarantee for 2 reasons the SFL will brush this under the carpet and let Edwardstown get away with it
1 - Will open a massive can of worms regarding what I have stated above
2 - Edwardstown being the new club to the SFL obviously struggling getting young kids to play, will threaten to leave the competion

Look forward to seeing how this one pans out !!

First things first I do believe f-hill need to be congratulated, a club definitely headed in the rite direction.
Is this now the end of an era for reynella, in my opinion yes.
M-vale today were awesome and way too quick and have also had an exceptional year considering all there departures from last season.
Brighton are an amazing side with absolute stars on every line and deserve absolute favoritism for next weeks gf.

Lastly who really cares which club pays what players...good luck to these clubs if they can.

Heard a rumour today that the mighty BDOS may be looking for a bigger challenge for their Sunday sides and may look to enter the teams in the MSJFL.

DTH is this true? After all BDOS were the reason the SFL created a Sunday comp. Hey it may mean that BDOS dont win every sunday b grade flag.

I know that today the Emus had 18 guys that have played juniors at the club & the 3 that haven't have all been at the club for over 8-10 years & without any disrespect to them they didn't come to the club as key recruits!

Money isn't everything in footy for some blokes!

Seriously mate if money was what you were after you definitely wouldn't be playing in the SFL.. Just cause teams do well and attract players from other leagues or teams doesn't mean they are paying them $$ .. I'm not sure how much money you think is in the SFL but I would think for some players it's more about success then $$$..

If the blokes being recruited to Brighton have been getting paid in SUCCESS then they have all been underpaid for the last 7-8 years!!!! ;)

Bombers A grade on Saturday had 14 players who come from our juniors. The other 7 all had some connection with the club either through friends and family before playing at the Bombers. The B grade yesterday only had 2 or 3 who aren't from our juniors.

On the Edwardstown Under 18 issue, I think people are getting a bit hysterical. They have a few Under 18 blokes who are still eligible for Under 16.5 so played games in Edwardstown Under 16.5 in the Metro South League. Still the same club so does it really matter that its another league. I believe the SFL have been fully aware of it all year and it was all approved, however they probably should have informed other SFL clubs so to avoid the drama's of having the Cove Mafia running around on Saturday claiming foul play.

Not crying foul play jus wondering how it is that they are unable to bring sides accross but manage for finals to bring players from another league. Also that 1 player was cleared by Cove to the MSJFL not to Edwardstown SFL, yet he played against cove. When quite clearly under the SFL rules we would not have to clear him to an SFL club

iv) The club to which a player is registered may refuse to grant a clearance to another SFL Club if the player is over 15 years old but still eligible to play U nder 18 Football.

Also a number of players are playing under a permit?? How does this happen? On what grounds are the permits issued, when under the CFB rules permits can't be used for finals.

SFL should forsake the Love child and award the flag to Morphett Vale under 18 as the last man standing?

DTH you are the first one to champion playing within the rules. Whether they are one club or not is not relevant here, they are affilaited in two leagues and the rules refer to affiliation.

If not breaking the rules they sure are stretched.

they did look too quick yesterday. bloke that played on the wing for MV think he was number 26/29 was lightning, got them off to a really good start. MV's backline looked very solid, all set up for a belter of a game this saturday.

I only champion rules I agree with. I have no problem with the Edwardstown situation. I do see your point with any lad who was cleared from an SFL club to play MSJFL Under 16.5 and has ended up playing Edwardstown Under 18 against the club he was cleared from. Thats probably a bit stiff and SFL should have been aware of these type of consequences.

Heard yesterday that the reason Early decided to step down at the end of this season was he believed that Reynella had lost their drive and were happy enough with they’ve accomplished. Could be utter nonsense but after watching yesterday I reckon its entirely plausible. Wineys just didn’t look up for the challenge.

Also it was obvious Reynella wanted the matchup of Bradshaw on N.Bayly but surely that needed to be changed as Reynella’s best player was pretty much taken to the goalsquare and kept out of the play for most the match.
