Sometimes I'm not sure how many comments on this site are taking the piss or what.
But, to me, that list of applicants looks pretty good. You cant tell me any of those blokes wouldnt make a decent senior coach.

The proof is in the pudding. If they turn the club around and create a finals winning team, then good on em.
No use shooting blokes down before they start or even get the job.,

Yeah, well... I guess it wouldnt be kosher to have coaches/players currently involved in the finals race on that list. ;)

Bayman this is not having a shot at you but what kind of Board is it if confidential information is getting out ? The same thing happened with Mickan , it was known he was gone . This is just unprofessional .

How a supporter can be privvy to this information is ridiculous.

i never said it came from the board & truthfully it didn't

I think the point is if the information is correct someone very close to the process is telling people who don't need to know. Might not necessarily be the board if they have a panel they've appointed to come up with a list or a recommendation for the job but it's a pretty fair chance that's the case.

Not sure why it is that Massies Coaching record for this season has to be the indicator of whether or not he has the job for next season?

Massie took over another mans list and had to try and get them to play his brand of footy, he had no say in what players he was given and had to make the best of what he had as well as to attempt to promote and play juniors and reserves players. Before people call for his head, it would be worth letting him present to the board his plan to turn the club around and who he feels he would let go from the list and what type of player he intends to recruit into the side to play his gameplan. I am not convinced that many other coaches would have done a great deal better in his shoes.

Think the issue that needs to be confronted by the board of the club is why the club has played so poorly in the finals over successive seasons. Could it be that there may be some truth in the suggestion that their home oval is much smaller than Football Park and that the players struggle to adapt the game plan accordingly? Glenelg seem to play a lot of handball into their game which requires high possession counts to maintain over the larger area, it has to become second nature when you play at Footall Park or Elizabeth to take the extra steps every time and to back yourself to go down the middle.

Maybe in order to turn it around Glenelg need to have a serious look at expanding Glenelg or moving? I hated seeing the "away" guernsey for South but I admit that it is helping the side not to turn over the ball, there is not a great deal to be gained by fighting for tradition if that tradition is choking the life out of the club. Perhaps Glenelg need to look at an alternate training venue, I dont have the answer to what has to be done but I do think that the board owe it to their loyal supporters to answer the question and really take action if there is a case that something does need to be done.

I got the impression from your earlier posts that someone from the club was releasing confidential information to you when they shouldn't be as well.
Even considered whose job you were putting on the line by posting it.

I'm glad we dont have someone involved who cant keep confidential information confidential
