Given the controversy during the week it was fantastic to see MV win the Under 18's.

Congrats to Brighton. They have been the best team this year. Mv would be very disappointed after playing a great first half to lead by a couple of goals and then getting outscored 11 goals to 1 in the second half. Brighton started to get first hands to the ball and got their running game going. A good all round effort from the bombers where as Mv seasoned A graders played well where as the young guys seemed to be overawed by the occasion. Half of MV team are straight out of the juniors so fantastic signs for the future and a great effort to get to where they did. MV really need a good key forward as they couldn't seem to get any contested grabs in their forward 50. If only Pollard was still playing! It was just Brightons time and they are very worthy premiers.

Hey Old Man Emu, the brown paper bag is empty, need you down here now with your credit card. Brighton Footy Club is pumping. The chardonnay and creme de menthe is flowing. First A & B grade quinella for 25 years. Buy shares in Ezy Tan tomorrow. Sunday breakfast special on Jetty Rd, Brighton, buy one skinny latte and get one free. You f--ken beauty. We actually won 3 flags today with the great Deano Sorell taking out the 18's (You can take the boy out of Brighton, but you'll never take Brighton out of the boy). You canna hand a man a grander spanner.

STOP PRESS: All premierships on hold because Cove have lodged a protest in all grades.

Who was number 42 for bombers.
Absolute gun.
And I reckon bombers had about 10 extremely timely smothers.
Way more desperate.
Mv are very young will be around mark for next decade.

No. 42 Lincoln "the missing link" Sharpe. Won the medal and played for peanuts. Like the rest of the Bombers, plays for the love. "If you build it, they will come."

M$h$ny the Messiah.

See you next year. We are not going away.

Well done to the Brighton boys obviously the best team all year, really were dominant in the second half - enjoy the festivities DTH

Have to say though enjoyed the match at Noarlunga last week a lot more than the sterile atmosphere at South

Last week Icey cold Pale Ales at $4.00
This week Warm Draught cans at $5.00

You don't know how lucky you've got it, the SAAFL charge $15 to get in & the beers are around $6.50.
If your not quick they normally run out by qtr time though.
The only fault i had with the SFL GF was the beer stalls around the ground all varied with what beers were still available, the bar by the entrance was the best of all, never running out of throffies.

Congrats to you bombers, was very impressed with the speed of the game. So much pressure. I thought the game in the first half mv looked the better side with brightons costly turnovers. However the second half the bombers were just remarkable to watch and It just proves anything can happen. Lincoln sharp was fantastic and I thought 31 was good in defence. Chad norsworthy 3rd quarter was as good as I've nearly seen anyone play in a gf, he just turned it on, on the big stage kicking 3 vital goals and setting up a couple. He is a class act, and got them back into the game.

I think there will be a few sore heads for the bombers today.

Why do we all think the atmosphere was down on last year? Is it because Reynella have a bigger supporter base then Morphett Vale ? Brighton seemed to again have more then their share of support.

I certainly noticed the empty spaces around the outer wing way more then last year. And the grandstand was only half full at best on the weekend as well.

Is it because the season went on a bit longer this year and unless directly in the gf we were all a bit over it? Or did some people prefer to go to the GSFL gf? Or stay at home and watch Geelong v West Coast?

Probably a good mix of all those reasons. I am sure the SFL would be interested.

And on a side note Morphy parks won the battle of the bars IMO. Lonsdales super dry cans were a little warm, Hackhams had sold out during 1st qurater of A grade (had to buy tooheys new) but Morphy Parks cold and available till nearly the end of the game, which by then it was time for a few jimmy cans anyway!!!

Agee the atmosphere was terrible, didn't even feel like a grandfinal from the time I walked in there and even when the game was on.

The last few years I have been alternating between GSFL and SFL and I have to say the GSFL wins hands down for atmosphere on grandfinal day. Ventured to south this year hoping that things might be different but it just doesn't do anything for me.

Perhaps the SFL could look at trying one back at porties again with added security and police presence as i feel it is a bit of a let down. Yes the facilities are great and the oval top notch, but nothing used to beat rolling into porties on GF day even if your club was not involved.

agree totally, while i enjoyed the game on saturday the atmosphere has been lacking the last two years. i remember being 16,17 and 18 watching the GF's at porties and it was always a brilliant day.

Thanks to the minority of D!ckheads that chose to fuel up on booze then punch on and invade the oval (2 years in a row) i can't see the GF ever being returned to the suburban grounds, i personally don't mind it at Noarlunga, but the sparcity of the outer side and northern goals is it's major downfall, improvement for next year is ALLOWING CARS AROUND THE OVAL! I think that will solve a lot of the atmosphere issue's as well as adding to the noise and car horns etc. I believe they do this for South games (sometimes?) so no reason why they can't do it for the GF.
