Would Central United go down this path again? Y did Niven move on in the first place from United?

The hard truth is that if you want to be a coach, then you need to be prepared to move around. You can't stay stagnant in one club for too long, hence the reason most clubs find new coaches after a couple of seasons - need to keep it fresh.
However, I would be suprised if Niven had applied for the position, I was under the belief he has had enough of coaching, not only that but my mail was that Central United had all but secured their new coach for next season...

As for the Ingle Farm comment about next seasons flag, well you probably need a bit better bait if you want to catch something..

I don't follow the whole needing to swap a coach every couple of years. If you swap a coach every 2 or so years what are you really going to achieve as a club? Yes the coach might bring in his mates for the couple of seasons, then if you have to keep it fresh as you say and the coach goes and he takes his mates, what does the club get out of this.
I think a coach needs a few more than 2 years in the job to devolp the players there and have time to take the group forward.
I think too many clubs bring in a coach, he brings his mates, coach goes as does his mates and club has achieved nothing.
Just my opinion. As far as Ingle Farm i was just going by the banter on here mate. I wish good luck to them.

I think after a couple of years, the game plan and coaching styles get a bit stale. Not saying all coaches are like that or all clubs need to change, I just think a change brings a fresh injection of style and enthusiasm. Same goes with committee members etc, I believe they should rotate after a couple of seasons, perhaps not off the committee but to a different role.
From a coaching side of things, moving clubs provides different challenges and different people to deal with.
I understand and appreciate your comment about bringing and taking mates, I wasn't really thinking about that side of things.

Couldn't agree more BFG. A quality core group of players and some good recruiting, already well and truly on the way, will be a complete different team next year. We realise div 7 will not be easy, but teams be wary, Ingle Farm will turn it around next year!!

Fringe B/C graders coming your way, hope all goes well & can get out of DIV 7.. Dont want to be like Mawson Lakes & be stuck there for a long time

Para Hills rubbing their hands together on this 1... if rumored 10-15 players going, of which 60-70% still have subs outstanding @ $200 a pop? At least 1 owes 2 years & played 15 games in 2 years ( 1 this year ) So i think PH will be waiting for the forms to come in & send back un financial

I hope u get your money out of these blokes. As far as i know you can only hold them back for the year just gone, not the one before

I am sure the ruling is that a club can claim up to 2 years of money owing, quite a few blokes in this position at the moment. let see what happens in feb............

Oh well Black Roo we'll see what happens. I know that one player will have to come up with some funds but as for others i don't think there will be a problem. Depends on how petty the club will be??? If they slog players whom helped out at the end of the year when we struggled to fill sides, huh.......what can i say

not petty at all imo... all clubs would do the same... no reason why a club should be short changed by blokes who think they can play for free...

Got to love this whole Para Hills Ingle Farm stand off. HBF as a coach y would you come on here and post stuff that can get used against you next season. If u play for a club,u pay.
Clubs arnt charities and have fees and other things to play. I think you all need to have a beer and cheer up a bit. You get no where having a slanging match with a club you will prob go back to one day. No use burning bridges. But Shit it is funny.

That was quick, you only finished your interviews 1/2 hour before you announced it. :) I do believe that I mentioned that weeks before that shaun was a shoe in for the job! 8)

Dutchy will be a great acquisition to the club, i'm sure he can bring a good group of players to the club to help take that next step..

congrats to dutchy, is he there to coach or bring players? I would have thought he is a coach first and foremost and players who may arrive with him are secondary..i would be more interested in how he coaches not who he brings..CUFC already had a good list to work with..but if the old coach takes some to smithfield they may need to restock..

Further to that Phantom a few people were told first week of finals that if Andy stays they would lose 10 players and if Andy goes they would lose 10. Guess they decided to worry about the guys who had been there for years and gave Shaun the job. Good luck to the bloke.
If you didn't know about this they you haven't been around long lol.
Andy was a dead man walking over a month ago.
