i'm still here.
Creeks lost the toss and got sent in on a dampish pitch. Having said that, there was NO excuse to be dismissed for 62. Some undisciplined shots, a run out and a longer tail than will be the norm due to selection restictions due to having the Bye 1st round and then having several players become unavailable which had to be replaced from with players that didn't play A2s or C grade the week before. The pitch was very good by the time Echunga batted and they rattled up 2/120 odd of 30 overs.
Pitch was a road today after being protected from the overnight showers with NEW covers that just arrived. Echunga declaring at 5/190 odd? The Creeks made a better showing in their 2nd dig reaching 2/150 odd by stumps.
We'll see how the Strath pitch plays as the season goes on and the grass thickens up and the mower blades begin to lose their edge. ;)
The Strath pitch looked reasonable the other week i had a peek and the faster outfield helps to with the run scoring to.

I think everyone will be pleasantly surprised about strath oval this year. The oval is a lot faster and the boundarys have been brought in line with footy boundaries making it a lot more rewarding finally for batters at strath. Hopefully for the creek there loss is just an early hiccup as they were being talked up to have a handy team this year.

Tight round of TVCA with 3 of the 4 games decided by 5 runs or less. Wide open A grade, with undefeated Palmer staking a claim for early favourtism.
Unfortunately we (Lenswood) allowed the mother of all comebacks by Birdwood to remain the only winless team.

It’s been a bowler’s season so far, with the top 10 wicket takers all averaging well below 10.
SAFC- 60 years...
StKFC- 58 years..

Seems to be a fairly sure week for the A&EH with all games being a bit of a sure bet, anyone tipping any upsets?

Thats good to hear, I still think it was a great oval to play on with what is usualy and exciting deck, will be good to see batters get the runs for hard work out there

ALL games a sure bet ???
Granted that Echunga, Lobethal, the Creek and Strath should be victorious but what about Hahndorf vs Woodside - could go either way couldn't it?

Havent seen alot of either team, so only going of results and a bit of hear say, but think woodside would be a steady chance, Hahndorf seem to have just dropped back a touch while blooding some good young players, think woodside might just have a little to much for them, Imo hahndorf will be back up around the top in 5 or so years, when all those young guys are early to mid 20's with 5 years of experience

Torrens Valley Meyer Shield squad commence training 23rd November at Gumeracha. Approx 25 players have put their hands up for selection. Looking forward to a great carnival in January in the TV area. At this stage the grounds will be Paracombe, Gumeracha, Mt Torrens (home base) and Birdwood.
