Ill appoint you as Captain Squids.
Do you change things up and go with a spin option with the new ball: Say Bearded wonder in combination with the Terry alderman-like Diddy?
Or do you open up with Whichgrade?
And why are Larry and Bigstack batting so low?

No I will give Larry the captaincy, he has a great mind for the game.
Everyone in my team has to bowl legspin
They are my X factors at the bottom order to keep the opposition guessing

thank you very much, it's a great honour to be chosen as captain of this very talented side. I look forward to working with u all in the near future.

And to answer that last question, Simon Fuchs is captain on the combined side.

Risdon had a good win in the Bgrade against a much improved Port Germein. I think Risdon won by 6 wickets and plenty of overs to spare. Good to see Port Germein bowlers improve, not many wides out there today. They have also found a few with the bat. If only Fluff got his hose out the game might have been closer.

In the other game at Complex 1 Sollies made 296, yes 296 against Strykers. Easily the biggest score I have seen in Pirie Bgrade.

And from what I understand, Strykers got to 7 for 116 in the run chase but the last three batsmen weren't around.

Thats a great effort given that there was a maroon car parked at the end of the oval behind the wickets which would have made visibility difficult.

Strykers make fields that are an absolute joke, when Complex 2 is bigger than Complex 1 then it is laughable. I fear for the "integrity" of the competition with Strykers playing on half sized fields every week.

What are this weekends results?

got a call earlier saying Sollies were 4/40 in the A's this arvo.

No excuses for the batting performances of both sides. Weather was hot and a bit windy but at this level I would have thought that both teams would have been capable of scores at least double the totals produced. Very disappointing really. Whyalla would really be rubbing their hands together.

I didn't go to the game but Pt Aug batted first and were bowled out for about 88. Ash bowled pretty well from all accounts. Pirie were then bowled out for 69 with Cameron Edson doing some damage with the ball. Nobody made runs, unless you call the odd 15 and 20-odd runs.

Wow that is bad, if they were dismissed by good bowling then that's okay but if they were throwing their wicket away then that is disappointing. Sadly the team was pretty much spot on being our best possible team.

The Safooty team would chase down 88 easily.

The Whyalla boys are talking up their chances for taking out the Spencer Gulf trophy this year and they haven't even played a game yet. Even though the season is still very young they have more than a handy rep side in form and a selection panel that is taking everything very seriously. It seems like a very good comp with bowlers taking wickets and a number of players each week making runs. After what happened in Pirie on Saturday it would be fair to say that Whyalla will take some beating.

Great to see that the Cricket Association has a Secretary now.
Well done to Matt Kennedy for taking on the role.

Can only be a good thing to have more involvement from current players. Hats off to you Kennedy for taking up this role.
