A Lovely Day At Victor on Easter Saturday

All discussions to do with the SANFL

Postby Sojourner » Fri Apr 06, 2007 10:38 pm

When Souths have tried this idea before, It has been quite popular and the venues have quite a number of people that come along, usually alot more than would be at any regular game of an SANFL club.

It would be interesting to see how it would work if whichever club that is allocated to Moonta as its country area gave it a go on the Easter weekend as well, probably a similar scenario!

I think that easter weekend should see all sanfl games played in the country zones,
For example ,South at Victor Harbour- it was a great success last year. WWT on Yorke peninsula somewhere -you only have to look at the PT Wakefield rd! Glenelg at Robe, Port at Pt Lincoln, Westies up the river, somewhere like Berri.
Plenty of people travel to the regional ares over Easter and it is a great opportunity for the sanfl to promote the game in the regional areas.

Not a bad idea - butttt for me, the Easter weekend's one of the rare chances I get to see SANFL minor round action, as I head to the city.

As a promotional idea it's great though.
You're my only friend, and you don't even like me.

Was a great day, had lunch at the Hotel Victor, enjoyed a 10 min stroll to the game from the in laws place leaving the kids behind.
Even got picked up by a bretho at Mt Compass to enjoy a negative reading (only had 1 pint at lunch and 1 can at the game).
Should be more games down there and less at Elizabeth!
Enjoyed briefly catching up with Borat and PhilH, got a few strange looks with me and the missus wearing Rooster hats but not many as there was so many locals there.

Forgot to mention before that Leigh Whicker and his family and friends were down there today, great to see his daughter looking well after the nasty incident a while back.

I've met her a couple of times whilst working at Target. It wasn't until I glanced at the name on the credit card that I realised who she was, introduced myself and told her about my older brother's similar incident.
ARRIVE... RAISE HELL... LEAVE.
