Allteams would now be aware that the points system will be in place for 2012
based on the last five years win/loss ratios.
the allocated points (subject to final ratification) Bostons 21, Lincoln South18, Tasmans/Marble Range 15,
Waybacks 12 and Mallees 9.
The Preseason Cup looks to be a big one with all Lincoln teams except Rangers(who are waiting to appt a coach)
on board plus a number of teams from Great Flinders and beyond showing some interest.
prize money is $5000.

This may be a rough guide, keeping in mind that leagues can change it if they feel. This was all from the SANFL website.
it goes off where they played the majority of the previous season.
5 points if they have come from the AFL, with that lowering by 1 point for every year since playing
4 points if coming from SANFL League side, lowering by 1 point for every year
3 points if coming from a "Major" league, including SAAFL div 1,2,3, SANFL reserves, or on EP PLFL and GFFL,
2 points if coming from a lower league, including FWFL, EEFL, MWFL, SAAFL div 4 or lower

And then, any player who has played 25 senior games (A or B) before leaving the club, then returning later, will attract 0 points.

There are also concessions in some leagues to do with playing of juniors. I think RMFL have it that for an U17 playing A Grade will be -1 point. I watched Tailem Bend play earlier in the year and they had to play around 4 or 5 U17's to offset their points allocation.

So you can only have so many points worth of recruits playing in the one game is that correct?

This is so confusing

I doubt it will have an effect on the PLFL. Who is worth points that currently plays over there. Anyone?

yeah the point allocation is per game. so you may see some handy A grade recruits having to play B grade in order to come under the allocation. Not sure how it will effect current players, most of them would come under the 25 game = 0 points clause. there is also some leagues that if someone plays juniors for that club, leave to go elsewhere before returning later, they are 0 points for "homegrown talent". another league has 0 points if their father is a life member at that club, regardless of where they played previously.
Basically i think the league comes up with the system, but the SANFL has to sign off on it.

once its up and going I think it will be quite good, but most clubs wont have too many issues
with keeping under the points per game.
Under the current PLFL proposal u17 players will be-1 point
Anyone got an AFL or SANFL player signed up for 2012 :D

Having previously played in a relatively even competition with the points system in place I can say it's definitely a move in the right direction for PLFL...... but I think the points allocated to all teams at the moment are too generous IMHO and I doubt any club will come close to using them in there entirety.

Not too much wrong with the deck, just some tight bowling and ordinary batting.

was talking to the man in charge yesterday and he said he just hasnt got to it yet. the league is still waiting on our player registrations. the list they gave us had blokes on there who havent played for 5 years, but then it was missing most blokes who signed up in the last 2 years, or young lads still in juniors or first year out. was also a problem where we were locked out with no password and had no way to recover it
