Really jim??? is that why the j-league is the top comp in asia??? is that why japan knocked off the aussie's at the asia cup??? is that why most jap teams make the final 4 of the asian champions league??? and Kazuyoshi Miura in the 2 month loan he was here in the first season put most of the league to shame, but you are right the japs are crap and the players are rubbish![]()

He didn't seem that happy in an interview as he left Adelaide Airport. Apparently he told the medical staff his foot wasn't right, but was told to play on against Wellington anyway until he broke down. I'd be pissed too. He's paying his own way back to Brazil, shows how little faith he has in the club's resources.devilsadvocate wrote:Jim05 wrote:Cassio has returned home to Brazil for medical treatment.

How did we get a gig in the ACL? I thought it was the minor premier and the grand final winner, and if the same-team, the runner-up took the second place?TOS_lad23 wrote:United have been drawn with Gamba Osaka (team that destroyed us in 08 ACL final), Bunyodkor (team we beat in semi's) and most probably Pohang steelers who will play off with a team from Thailand for the last spot in the group. that is 3 huge Asian clubs that regularly feature in the ACL. The way were playing at the moment im tipping we will struggle to get a point off any of these teams. the trips to Uzbekistan and Japan are pretty much write offs.
Hopefully if our fortunes turn around we will have something to look forward to once the A league wraps up.
