I thought thr max transfer fee was something like 20 or 25k. Has it gone up markedly recently or something?

Nathan Eagleton was $25,000, I dont think Kane is worth more.

On recent performances, Kane is worth bucket loads more than Eagleton.

Time to eat some humble pie over the B & C Kane saga. Eagles, well played. You got us right at the death with Chris Kane and Sturt well done regarding Ben Kane if you can actually get him signed. I should have learned my lesson with big statements last year.

Ben Kane has officially left Glenelg.

Some huge issues it seems at Glenelg.

Glenelg Football Club wishes to advise it members and supporters that Ben Kane will not be re-signing with the Club for 2012.

After several discussions and meetings in recent weeks the Club was unable to reach terms with Kane (29) who advised the club of his decision earlier today citing he wanted a fresh start next year.

“I have loved my time at Glenelg and eveyone at the Club has been awesome but at this stage of my career, I just feel I need a fresh start,” said Kane.

Glenelg Chief Executive Rob Nelson said the Club was philosophical about Kane’s decision and parting ways with its 2011 Best & Fairest winner.

“Kris (Massie), Ken (Applegarth) and I have had several discussions with Ben over the past couple of weeks with the intention of having him as a key senior player in our group. Whilst disappointed to lose a player of Ben’s class, you cannot manufacture a player’s desire to be part of our program therefore we part ways in good spirit and wish Ben the best for his future,” said Nelson.

After last years efforts I'd like to see every player at the bay get a 10% pay cut, should flush out the rest of the rats. Tired of these soft pr*cks wasting my membership money!

"I need a fresh start"... what a weak Gen Y comment.... man up!

You might need to give a 10 % increase so you can get some players ! Won't be many left by the sounds of things.

Adam Cockshell has approached Port regarding playing there. Still has a year to go on a contract with us. I know clubs can not approach players but if a player initiates it, how does the league regard this?
