Crane, Darling and Gum were all fantastic on their debut for the club. Great times ahead for the Double Blues.
But it was more than a victory for Greece. It was a stirring example to free people throughout the world of what a few brave men can accomplish once they refuse to submit to tyranny.

Big call Bayman. I really hope the guys don't get ahead of themselves, as i said on the snouts, we should be fired up about what happened last year at the bay, we will be in for a tough game, no team will be easy this year, imho. I really hope the players are switched on unlike the trial against South, which was a disgrace. If we are switched on we should win.

I find these stats interesting, might sway me to change my mind from tipping the Bays to tipping Sturt:

All Recent Encounters : Glenelg won the last encounter, Sturt the previous 7
Recent @ Unley : Sturt have won 9 of the last 11

most of those losses were when the bays were are rabble & sturt a very polished team, but now the tide is/has turned glenelg are now on the way up & sturt are in the rebuilding process (no not a rabble)

wedgie, tip the double blues at your 'own peril' my friend

Haven't seen the Bays this year so can't judge. But I'd at least be confident that Sturt at their best could win it.
A cop out but even money I'd say. Oh OK, I'll tip Sturt cos of home ground advantage. And anyway, Glenelg are pish.

I'm tipping there is going to be supporters of seven other clubs pissing* themselves if this match ends in a draw after the "banter" on this thread.....

Got two more rounds of this to go later in the year....
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Should be a tough as nails game this one! I expect the Blues to come out fighting and to go in having fought hard, and nothing less. If we can do that for four hard quarters against a team that must be chomping at the bit to get out there against us, then we have done ourselves proud.
Glenelg are playing their first game for the year, I believe history goes convincingly in favour of those sides to win their first game directly after having the bye first round, Mickan is a very capable coach IMO and surely has the players to bring the best out of the Blues. On paper and recent from this game should be a pushover for Glenelg, fortunately however, the intangibles gained during the off-season are still not evident on paper. I am going to tip Sturt to stagger over the line against a well acquitted Glenelg, based purely on faith and the hope that we are now playing to our potential.

CARNA' BLUES!!!!
I'm gonna sit back, crack the top off a Pale Ale, and watch the Double Blues prevail

I saw 'Cavo' at the game and from what I could gather, most of his time was spent following his little one around all afternoon!

But hey, the Bays had their stats boys at the game 'doing all the work needed', so really, Sturt need not bother rolling up to Unley on Sunday because Glenelg are going to pulverise us

Geez, Glenelg finish sixth and all of a sudden some of their supporters are getting ahead of themselves indeed.

Sturt will be ready for this game.
