im not sure if this has been raised elsewhere

but how concerning is it that none of our test players or anyone in contention will play no 4 day games leading upto the boxing day test match?

very similar to when we lost the ashes to the poms out here, we had poor lead up. i think india will win or draw the series out here

Let the festival of batting begin.

Neither side has the fire power to take 20 wickets against decent batting line ups especially if the pitches arent doing alot.

Series result

0-0 and lots of runs.

1. Watson
2. Warner
3. Ponting
4. Clarke
5. Hussey
6. Christian
7. Wade
8. Siddle
9. Pattinson
10. Lyon
11. Harris

Cowan is in if Watson doesn't come up. Some of Haddin's shots are terrible and shows he is either too stupid to read the situation of the game, or just doesn't care enough. Hughes speaks for himself, Khawaja's struggling to get out of neutral, and although I'd rather see that than Haddin's approach, has made bugger all runs. Happy to have Ponting back up a spot, lately there's been stuff all difference between 3-5 anyway.

Shaun Marsh struggling to be fit in time for Boxing Day.
Has withdrawn from Chairmans XI match and first Big Bash match.
Will only play 1 Big Bash match before 1st Test.

On Marsh, Cowan replaced him in that other match...

Decent batting line up? Someone hasn't being paying attention. We've been bowled out for under a hundred three times in the last 15 tests. Our current number three who is coming in with about 20 on the board more often than not plays straight and won't play shots. Our current batting legend and number four hasn't hit a ton for over two years. Our number five is going OK unless you count his last three innings against the eighth ranked test team and you could say the same about our number six veteran as well. Our keeper can bat but isn't particularly versatile. Then we have Siddle coming in at eight.

Hardly much to write home about. The Indians will win at least two tests.

Yeah I think India will win 2-1 with a draw.

Everyone thinks India is going to win but they have never won a series in Australia. And they are going to have more troubles bowling us out than we have with them.

Hope sachin gets a howler on 99 and because the indians refuse to have the review system he's out. Love nothing better than to see their racist board have to join the 21st century and start doing whats best for the game and not themselves.
Sorry I think i said that out loud

lol..
i can see your point.
but sachin is such a legend i dont care if he gets it against aus.

if he did get out on 99 to a dodgey decision, i would go in hiding if i was the umpire. the indian fans would be out in force.
burning photos etc

Hussey is a lock for the series, he has only really had a lean trot for 4 tests (2 in SA, 2 v NZ). Before that he was our best player last summer and also in Sri Lanka.

Watson (or Cowan) for Hughes to be the only change. Haddin is more likely to go than Punter.

Khuwaja gets the 1st test to make runs before Marsh starts applying pressure. Christian in for Khuwaja depending on pitch

Watson/Cowan
Warner
Khuwaja
Punter
Pup
Hussey
Haddin/Wade

Khuwaja (12th man)

Hughes must go, he is rubbish. Starc needs to get more consistent, and there is no reason why he cant do that at domestic level. I rate Khuwaja very highly, but 12th man for me. Is Ben Hilfenhouse out of the picture completely?? He holds up an end and applies plenty of pressure, he's next in line before Starc IMO.

Could Cowan come in and play any where from 3 to 6?
My thinking is that from the names I listed 3 to 6 could be in any order.
Does it matter if an opener in Sheffield Shield is making runs but when he plays for Australia he bats else where?

Marsh has been ruled out, Harris will go in with 4 overs under his belt, I don't think your team is a viable solution for the 1st test.
Hilfy took about 3 for 2 million in his last few appearances for Australia, he'd be about 10th in line now.
