I heard the WAFC got together and put in a pretty inspiring performance to get him off. Went something like...

"I see a little silhouetto of a man,
Scaramouche, scaramouche will you do the fandango-
Thunderbolt and lightning-very very frightening me-
Galea, Galea,
Galea Galea
Galea figaro-magnifico-
But Im just a poor boy and nobody loves me-
Hes just a poor boy from a poor family-
Spare him his life from this monstrosity-
Easy come easy go-,will you let me go-
Bismillah! no-,we will not let you go-let him go-
Bismillah! we will not let you go-let him go
Bismillah! we will not let you go-let me go
Will not let you go-let me go
Will not let you go let me go
No,no,no,no,no,no,no-
Mama mia, mama mia, mama mia let me go-
Beelzebub has a devil put aside for me,for me,for me-"

So Westhoff will miss the ANZAC Day game given Central have the bye in R3. Does that rule him out of AFL as well?

Yes it does rule him out of AFL. Bloody soft it was too.

Talk is that Cowans will come into the side to rpelace him, not a bad replacement.

Seeing that Westoff is an AFL player and the bye counts for an SANFL game as far as qualifying for finals it should count for a game for suspension too. So he should be eligible to play on ANZAC day

It does raise a conundrum. Is he suspended for 2 SANFL games and 3 AFL games, or 2 AFL games and 1 SANFL games. Would love someone who knows the rules to explain this one, including whether any of those suspended games would count as qualification. Not that it'll matter of course, because I can't see him playing much AFL this season anyway.

Galea ran in from a long way to do some shoving in a fracas that the umpires had basically sorted out.
As a former ump, him getting off sucks. You get criticised for "not controlling" the game, but all you need is one idiot to undo the hard work.

What a joke the SANFL tribunal is going to be this season.Westhoffs suspension is a joke, yes he made high contact but the contact was slight and Wintle made more of it.The biggest joke is that because he believes he wasn`t guilty they slap another game on,yet galea is throwing punches trying to hurt his opponents ang gets off.DiD Westhoffs clean record come into consideration,FFSake pay a free and leave these soft reports to the AFL.Dont F@#$%$% our game up.

You have enough top players out injured during the season so suspending players for soft reports aint going to help the standard of games or draw crowds with a weaker line-up available. This is more an umpiring thing trying to impress for an AFL call-up if that makes sense.

Well it is a new law 15.4.5 (n) front on contact when a player is over the ball picking it up or anticipating picking it up. Umpires are encouraged to report at all grades any front on bumps OR forcefull front on contact to a player with his head over the ball 19.2.2 g (xi) Laws of Australian Football.

If you don't like join the AFL rules committee and change it or get your local body (SANFL, SAAFL metro league or country league) to change it for the competitions they administer.

As an country umpire I got no chance of an AFL call up but I am required to umpire to lthe aws of teh game. If it says report we have to report.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!
