When i was last over there i suggested more games should be played on Friday nights, no one could give me a decent answer but nearly everyone said no. The only excuse that sounded plausible was that it is hard to allocate large numbers of police to these matches as Friday nights are generally a busy night for them and they cant spare the men. Ive got rellies in the UK still and they dont know why either

Come to think of it, I do recall seeing that mentioned in a thread on this subject.

Drinking louts play a big role in determining the timing of many fixtures, in particular big rivalries.

Although at the end of the day, SKY controls the world now, so it is a surprise we don't see more Friday night football. Unless perhaps they see this as a dead viewing time slot due to all the geezers being down the local?

How would traveling supporters get to a Liverpool v southampton game on a Friday night without taking time off work etc..

Can't see how that'd be an issue for Liverpool fans....

Rovers have gone forward once and hold the lead.
Yakubu penalty puts them 1-0 up
Knew resting players would come back and bite

1-0 to Rovers at the half
Going to be hard to equalise, huge numbers behind the ball.
If we dont win this i hope the board rips into Fergie for playing a weakened side

No dream.
Spurs drew at the Jacks aswell.
Dont know why but the New Years fixtures are always full of upsets.
We are just lucky that none of our rivals really made up much ground, hopefully City continue the trend tonight

Yep very doubtful they will slip up, hence the reason i still have them as champions. I said a couple of weeks back that we are still prone to dropping points, Rovers have always been a bit of a bogey side for us.

yeah I meant rivals for title, i still think the race is down to 3 for the title although after last night it might be down to 1 :(
If you keep you squad together and pick up 1 or 2 key players you will be right there next year but dont think you can win it this year.

rumours surfacing that Wayne Rooney had a fall out with Fergie before the match against Blackburn and thats the reason he was left out.

On us, Vermalen is out for 2 weeks with a calf strain. We have no full time full backs or fill ins for them now. Arsene has stated he will be buying one over the next day or so
