While we are all commenting on Matthew Jaensch and whether he should be playing cricket for Hahndorf. Does anyone know if he has permission to play summer sport ?
I think we all may be making assumptions that he can't. There may be a window during pre season where he may be allowed to do what he wants.
There was a fairly handy footballer named Craig Bradley who played cricket most seasons.

On Echunga / Mylor, we simply were outplayed by Hahndorf this time. Don't right us off just yet - if we can repeat the form that we displayed against Langhorne Creek we can still go close to finals.

I watched Vince & Pretrenko play at the Creek last Sunday for Stansbury in the T20 country championchips.
Does anyone have a problem with that?

AFL Players are only human and they are entitled to have a life outside of footy surely?

Yes, i think Ech/Mylor are a reasonable chance of playing finals.

BUT........

As for the form against L.Creek, Ech/Myl had by the far the better of the conditions on the 1st day of that match although having said that, still outplayed the Creeks.
Also the Creeks form this season so far has been bordering on Dismal so realy cant use that win as much of a guide.

Yeah they should be allowed to play but after having shoulder surgery and his recent track record i'd think he'd be doing his all to be right for next season.

As I’m bored..

Mt Torrens/Charleston (97 points) A couple of huge outright wins has them top. Excellent bowling attack.
Palmer (84) Miserly bowling attack. Would probably like to be scoring a few more runs.
Paracombe (84) See Palmer.
Gumeracha (56) Cant win the close ones at the moment. Some good, young talent though.

Eden Valley (44) Started well but their batting has dropped away. Ugg in fine form with ball.
Cambrai (41) Lack a bit of batting depth but win at Paracombe suggests their best is good enough.
Lenswood (39) Won the past couple at home, have been dreadful away from Lenswood.
Birdwood (25) Bowling has improved on last year but a few ugly scores with the bat.

Probably the theme for the year has been low scores. A heap of bowlers averaging less than 10 at the moment.

Following this week’s games all clubs would have played each other.

Mt T v Gum
Par v Lens
Pal v EV
Cam v Bird

Gum looking very strong in the B Grade. Likely challengers to be Paracombe and Mt Torrens.

What have been the thoughts and outcomes of the respective associations at the halfway mark of the season, since Lobethal and Woodside have moved on? I've noticed Lobethal have continued their winning ways, and despite the depth of the club being down on previous years the 2's are up amongst it. Woodside aren't as high up the ladder as last year. is this personnel or the quality of the competition and the gap between Lobethal and Woodside is in fact this great?

Are any clubs in A&EH against the idea now? Originally they may have thought the quality of competition was going to stifle Lobethal's dominance. Or have Loby gone to another level again?

I'm sure the clubs in TVCA are pleased and the comp appears to be a bit more even, but has the junior side situation improved?

From a club in A&EHCA, havent heard anything negative about Lobethals & Woodsides inclusion into the comp.
Very hard to assess the strength of the 2 new clubs at this stage compared to the others.
With the Fixture being the way it is, it's not even due to some clubs only getting 1 day matches against the bottom teams, thus denying them outright opportunties which are massive in determining finals participants (have been 4 O/Rs already? along with the byes, the current premiership table is not really relevant at this stage in determining the relative strengths of teams.
Depending on availibility from week to week, i dont think there's that much between the top 6 - 7 sides in the 'A' grade comp.

During December apparently two to three A&EHCA players played under false names in the TVCA during their bye! You would assume that as Woodside had the bye during that period it would be Woodside players??

Can anyone shed any light on the club & offenders??

Mt Torrens/Charleston was the offending TVCA club. I believe the players came from Echunga/Mylor. 10th of December.

Mt Torrens/Charleston lost their points from the game. Fair punishment.

Think the A&EHCA executive may discuss this week if a penalty is apropriate to to be imposed on the offending players.

In the 'A' s, Creek got a result over Wistow b4 the rain came.
Seems that Woodside were very unlucky in their game with Ashbourne after they knocked up what must be close to a record score in a 1 dayer of 5/325 at Ashbourne b4 having Ashbourne 9/139 off 30 overs b4 the match was abandoned.

Dont know about other games.

i see paracombe are sitting at 6/26 after bowling gumeracha out for 137. not a good sign for the top team in TV.
obviously outright wins against lower teams can inflate your standing in the league.
