I feel that it was a poor decision because from where the umpire stood he must surely have considered that the ball was going to miss leg stump.

In the absence of DRS, the overriding principle has always been that the batsman gets the benefit of the doubt and there should have been enough doubt for the umpire to keep the finger down.


He obviously didn't and he was right. Very good decision. I find it strange that anyone can criticise an umpire when their decision is clearly proven correct by multiple replays.

Maybe so but he came with a big reputation.
His captaincy is diabolical, his batting is poor and even his glovework has been ordinary.
