The Rose & Crown A grade side. Lost half the grand final side from last season and was missing Stamatovich for the 1st part of the season, yet have managed to only lose the 1 game so far this year and find themselves firmly embedded in the top 4.
Under achievers? Russell Figallo. The former McKenzie medalist has struggled for consistency this season, yet has shown his destructive best on occasion. Would expect it's only a matter of time before it all clicks for the R&C skipper - someone to be wary of coming into the back end of the season perhaps?
Suprise packets? One Tree Hill. After all reports at the end of last season, they were pencilled in for nothing but failure and hard times. Have been competitive this season and find themselves in range for a possible finals place.
Whose been Unlucky? Central United. Have been in strong positions on several occasions this season, and when firing can be competitive with the best of them, probably should have a few more results in their favour.
Whose got Lucky?Smithfield. Find themselves within striking range of the top 4 despite being one of the more inconsistant performers this year. Escaped with 2 draws in the past 3 rounds when a loss looked certain, need to lift in the back stretch of the season.

Angle Vale got off to a flyer and have fizzled, Virginia has done the opposite. I think the PDCA has been a winner so far as most grades are relatively even and finals are in grabbing distance for most.

who cares im bored

I think Wellington has been a real find for Salis West this season, and Sewell has taken his game to another level - I doubt many would've thought he would be leading the run scoring at this point in the season.

Andy Carmen has dropped away after the lighting start to the season with his 2 tons.

Nixon from OTH has struggled for wickets also after a quick start to the season, infact I think someone predicted that he would struggle to get 30 wickets for the season when he was on about 20.. :-?

Your tripping if you think he wont finish with 30.
I reckon 37, somewhere around there. Still has Smithfield & Gardens to play again, and he took all his wickets against those sides.
The secret impresses no one. The trick you use it for is everything.

Time will tell I guess..
Plays Parafield in a 1 dayer and Angle Vale was the other side he took wickets against - took 19 wickets in two games! Impressive achievement but unfortunately has only taken 5 in the other 6 games...

Ha, luck is in the eye of the beholder.

We've been unlucky to lose Raed for most of the first half of the season, Shano was betting well and owning the opening batsman position til he got injured, Big Jim has missed more games than we needed to, we've had key players out every game so far.
Round 1: Kenty went to town on us and got away with some lusty hitting to get you to over 200, Russell was plumb on 0 and given not out and went on to make 70 odd. (unlucky).
Round 2: Had no Raed or Jim and lost to Westies by 100. (neither)
Round 3: Chased down 359. (neither)
Round 4: Was cruising against AV then Shano got injured and we slumped, scored 220 and lost. (more unlucky)
Round 5: Succesfully defended 140 odd against the Units. (neither)
Round 6: Got robbed against Virginia when we were in a commanding position. (unlucky)
Round 7: Chasing OTH's 170 odd then it rained heavily for our whole innings. (a bit unlucky but also lucky it got called off when it did, should've been called way earlier).
Round 8: Yeah, you guys were well on the way to victory. (lucky)
Round 9: Westies flogged us. (lucky they didn't bat first :D )

Overall, we've hardly been kissed on the johnson but we've underperformed, especially with the ball.

Haha not excatly what I meant PG... We bowled everyone including the keeper who went for about 40 off 2 overs, they make 220.. They bowl all there bowlers( that are better than alot of A1 bowlers going around atm) daniel kept his good form and bj hit a few but it wasnt till bj mention to there captain about sharing the bowling around would be a giod idea..the response..we have none..bj responds with.. Well we didnt either..from there and good on there captain for doing so,they bowled some tripe and one of lower order batters hit a few..tbh if daniel and bj failed and they bowled there 5 bowlers we would of struggled to get a 100...so my point is more that I thought these games were played for abit of fun? Not to just come out and smack a side? If the teams are even then yeah go hard but how many abcd graders played for ep on sunday?

well done to the PDCA u/15s yesterday and today, monday 39 degrees, got skittled cheaply but made atca fight very hard and had them 5or 6 down before their score was passed, today, again stinking hot, the lads and parents drove to mitchell park for 10am start, lost the toss, asked to field 1st (hottest part of the day) , south central made 8-200 from their 40 overs..( ok lunch today... but not as good as eastern park on monday..) then the PDCA lads batted their backsides off in the chase, unfortunately they fell just 6 runs short and finished 6/194... fantastic effort, very unlucky not to get over the line, another game tomorrow (wed) on turf at gepps cross, 10am start, if anyone is passing, please pop in and give the lads your support. also well done and thanks to Elaine and Cam from Rosies and Mel from the units for their time and effort so far, considering we dont field a u/15 competition, its great that the lads can play inter-association cricket in their own age group.

If it's good enough for Wasleys then it's good enough for everyone IMHO :D

you guys would be out on your ear aswell then if that's the case

Well we would argue that it is our 5th side as we are one cricket club unlike the others

But with the blokes we have playing if not one day side then we would probably drop it as the 50 year olds would retire ;)

Fair enough mate wasnt there as i said.

Is one of the most talented 18 year olds getting around in PDCA at the moment, only if he was switched on all the time.

Who were the other two bowlers that were bowling, our leading wicket takers this year Danny Masefield and Frank McConnell didnt play so interested in who the ones you thought were alot better than alot A1 bowlers were.

Im guessing 16 year old Ian Williamson would have been one his a GUUUUUUUUUUN!

Maybe the young fella's just haven't been told it's a bit of a chill-out match. Bouncers and sledging isn't on and it's the quickest way to stuff it up for everyone. Maybe in the final the intensity should be increased but til then it should be a bit of hit and giggle.

I don't think he said 3 mate, yes, Ray Ray and Ian were the only two that looked damaging, Knappy bowled but got belted a bit IIRC.

Angle Vale and One Tree Hill should be a good game, the Billiegoats could jump back into the 4 with a win providing that Rosies knock off Virginia.
One Tree Hill need a buffer as they play Rosies and Westies in rounds 12 & 13.
Virginia, Smithfield and the Units all have similar chances to One Tree Hill aswell, basically have to beat the teams you are vying against and try jag another win somewhere to further enhance your chances.
