It does seem to occur a bit with Eagles supporters doesn't it. This from the general discussion forum

Ridiculous & ignorant comment. Leave your wild stabs in the dark for your Melbourne Cup bets...

Getting back to the original question kindof, I know three people who've handed in their Crows memberships this year. Got a bit too difficult. All three will be at SANFL matches this year.

Interesting I accept by the way .
Funny how the game hasn't been sold out someones marketing dept has slipped up .
And South fans if you man up on the rest of the top teams like you did on WWt last week Pyeman wont be taking you to the finals this year !!
And to be correct he stuffed up WWT vs Norwood in a final by missing a goal in the square.
Cheers
and chill guys let it all out at the oval .

My parents did the same after 10 years and I've heard this same story from others this year. Time will tell whether my dad comes back to the Bays but I doubt it. But from their comments they are sick of the mindless supporters around them, the lack of atmos, transport issues and sanitisation & commercialisation of the general experience. Pretty much conclusions I reached about the AFL yonks ago.

how many times has this type of thread come up in the past 18 months.

i am a proud crows supporter, i will be in attendence tomorrow afternoon. i am also a member of the Vice President's at the Glenelg Football Club and i will be at the game on Sunday. with all the overlapping of crows/glenelg games during the year you'll find me situated on Snouts Hill (at home games) or wherever we are playing and will be watching the replay of the crows game when i get home regardless of the result.

is it me or are we getting sick of this recycled topic?

The SANFL should look at having a dollar day once a year, should get a few more in to have a look, once they go to one game they will see how much better watching the SANFL is. Also maybe they should look at having a weekend where if you rock up with club merchandise on from one of the two teams playing (eg scarfe or beenie, etc), you get in for free. Would be interesting how big the crowds would be....Just some ideas, anyway i agree with LEH we should 'strike while the iron is hot'...

There are a few valid reasons why the Showdown isnt sold out, the main one being that its on a Saturdya AFternoon - traditionally the worst timeslot for AFL in this state.

I dont think its a case of a lage percentage of the footballing public "seeing the light"
