Tim Paine

Postby CoverKing » Mon Jan 23, 2012 8:48 pm

Just heard on Inside Cricket from Rodney Hogg and Allan Border that Tim Paine will never keep again but continue to play as a batter.

Any one else heard any further on this?

He is not good enough as a batsmen to play for Australia.

Hell there are better keeper batsmen than him.

Most overrated player in Australia.

Something I did not realise is that Tim Paine is 27. Not a player for another decade.

Gilchrist debuted at 29.

Matthew Wade at 24 would be a more solid choice.

Why all the love for Wade?
Peter Nevill is a far better glovesman than Wade and equal if not better with the bat. Nevill is one of the top run scorers at shield level this season. I dont think Wade's keeping ability is much better than Haddin's

Fingers are a mess. will have little to no movement in at least 1 if not more fingers, as he would have numerous pins and screws in them. I heard they considered removing one of his digits its that badly damaged. :?

0X100
2X50

RYOBI
57 RUNS
11.40 AVE
85.07 S/R

He is only 24 years old
Reckon he batted 8 often , so his SS run stats were reasonable

This is very pedantic but he was 28. I do however admit that when I first read your post I though "nah, no more than 26 surely". So I still pay this one to you ;)

It's amazing that you can have such a decorated and brilliant career despite starting so late. It makes a mockery of some of the recent selections and comments on here about needing to start them in their early 20s.
