Not denying that at all, if we need extra seats at pre match functions we need extra carparks for our supporters to go. Pretty simple and the nearby school is where they'll be.

Where I think you're getting your pretty little head all confused is with car parking for a Members facility. This has always been a problem but has now been fixed long term by the addition of a laneway through the house on Beulah Rd to the Oval where people will be able to park when the new clubrooms are built. Is this really so hard to understand?

If you're selling naming rights for that low I'd be asking questions of Granty, that's giving it away.

Thanks also for acknowledging CDFC naming their Oval after the Council has nothing to do with embracing the community and everything to do with money.

Thats interesting, i thought he loved working at the footy club.
I had heard that he was a better administrator than coach...

couldnt comment on that as im not involved in the club. was just told he was only coaching the 18s.
at a guess i would think it would be something too do with cost cutting as his role was full time, and and u18 coach wouldnt be.

so to clarify you do need extra car parks for your members as I stated originally and you feebly denied.

" has now been fixed long term by the addition of a laneway through the house on Beulah Rd to the Oval where people will be able to park when the new clubrooms are built" .

so " When" they are built you'll make a really good point. In the interim... continued Primary school stop gap measures to accomodate I'm guessing.

Yep just a money thing for the council . They stand to make billions out of the sponsorship with centrals. Nothing to do
with the as mentioned previously community link.

So no interest for norwood council sponsoring norwood oval ??? Is it the
money or that they just couldn't give a stuff ??? :D

btw isnt norwoods membership 6-800 down on this time last year ???

No, this was what you said.

frontfoot wrote:the decade long issue of car parking still remains unresolved.
.

And I told you it had been resolved and how it had been resolved.

The simple fact that's not permeating through your murky consciousness is that we don't need the extra carparks until the members facility is built, the new ones at the school you're obsessing about are discretionary ones that provide greater benefit to out coterie groups.

Is there another CDFC fan who speaks UKFan's language and who can explain this to him?

er, frontfoot

with all your interest in these matters, perhaps you could become a member and attend the AGM yourself?

As for Coopers Stadium...

it is owned by the Council and leased to the Football Club on a long-term lease. Beyond the lease, the Council does actually make financial and goodwill contributions to the management and maintenance of the Oval, which ironically equate to virtually the equivalent of what you are saying Playford pays for naming rights!

Whilst we are talking about facts, I am reliably told that the naming rights for Coopers Stadium are the highest value of any naming rights in the SANFL. Equally, the club's major sponsor is the league leader in terms of the value of that sponsorship.

Beyond that, we have a dedicated community program called Club 100TEN that works with disadvantaged youth in our zones, and demand to access that program is severely challenging the club's ability to service the need. In 2012, the theme is going to be on educating youth about the dangers of the cyber world. Club 100TEN is overseen by an employee of the club (Robbie Neill) who is required to facilitate delivery of the program throughout the zone. This is in addition to his coaching responsibilities.
We have a partnership with the Newton Jaguars Netball Club.
We recently established the Redlegs Foundation to support past players and officials who may require financial support at some point in time.
Our History Committee provides research services to the community on club related matters.
Our players are required to do community service activities during the year

That's all off the top of my head. From my perspective, for a SANFL club we're probably doing a pretty good job in the area of community connection. I'd be interested if you could equally illustrate the initiatives that your club pursues.

Our major sponsor is The Government of South Australia & their interest in the local community is obvious. The oval has been named after the largest subdivision in South Australian history, so large that is a new suburb of approximately 4,500 new homes PLUS the largest Urban Renewal project in the state's history. Obviously this is FANTASTIC for the community, with more people moving into the area, bringing more infrastructure, which in turn means more jobs. CHA-CHING!!

Yes, the Northern Suburbs have always added massive amounts of money to the State Goverment coffers. Expiation Notices add up over the years, well, the ones that get paid sure do.

Add to that the almost non-existant drain on the government through unemployment and government funded rehabilitation programs and it truly is CHA-CHING for those on North Tce! No wonder the sponsorship is coming thick and fast.

*Edit - I thought Holden was your major sponsor?

Playford, as a LGA ( Local Government Association ) is not a State Government department.

The paper obviously wasn't at the 2002 AGM where current President Joe Tripodi was elected to the board, that was fiery enough to have two security officers attending.

Last night was nothing compared to that.
