If gawler DESERVED to be in the final they would have won.
The BEST team would have won no matter where it was played,
Neither team was advantaged, the whinging is just sad.
Gawler had their chance BUT they got pantsed, Ergo, they don't play the final.
Take it like men or go and play with the kids.........pathetic.
A team that is upset about not walking through on a forfeit deserves to win nothing.

i dont have a problem with the result, ango were to good on the day, didnt drop a catch, deserved to win. And in the end the right thing was done to get a game of cricket. BUT you cant changes rules overnight. Centrals have lost 2 one day semi finals due to weather and there wasnt a thought of moving to hard wicket. Its just tough luck and deal with it. Rules are rules, if they advantage you , you use them. Clearly this rule needs to be changed to add " weather " to human error and vandalism of the pitch, so it is very clear on when you move to another ground. GV lost last year and they could of played on another ground but no the higher team won......

Fair bit of solid banter happening on here yesterday and today, good to see the forum alive. Will be good to read UTP and scuds thoughts, should be some good reading.

Very happy to see the GF being played at Sandy, the ground is probably in the best condition its been in for years, definitely since the turf has been put in. Smallish ground could see a big score so will definitely be worth a look, GO THE BOMBERS!!!!! ;)
Get that corn outta my face!!

Really, what is the fuss all about?? Two hard wicket clubs, played a semi final on a neutral HARD wicket ground. One won, one lost. Anything else is all fluff on top!

Sour grapes anyone???

Surely playing a game of cricket is the best thing,I said the same thing to kingy on Sunday at freeling and he said "yeah we want to play and beat ya's" which was a great attitude, so I'm guessing these comments on here are from not the players as they seemed like they wanted to play.

and let's be honest the best PERFORMED one day team in past 2 or 3 years made it through, it would of been a little ironic if G/C got through because of rain when they were sitting top only because they played the then bottom team when everyone else was washed out meaning they were a game a head of everyone.

Anyway look forward to the challenge of Kapunda who are playing some great cricket right now,

Pretty sure nobody from GCCC has been on here complaining about the result mate...We lost fair and square on the day.

Seems like most people are bit confused about how the by-laws came to be changed since the AGM without a vote from the clubs...

if you have a look at the 1 day ladder you'll notice we actually beat the second and third placed sides in 1 dayers this year...You blokes and South are the only ones we havent beaten in a 1-dayer and we didnt get to complete our game against South. Hopefully this means we get a cracker of a game in two weeks time at the Dog Track...

Cant remember the exact final score, but heard GW fell 2 wickets shy of an outright and Stock too 8 for the match including a hat trick to back up his 150 last week lol

Prob better off going to the grey hounds - better chance of snagging a win than you do in the grand final and than when you play Gawler Central in the 2 dayer soon..

As for what the 'sooks' are doing.. well half the team took the week off to relax while the other half made very light work of Tanunda ;)

If u are not doing anything today come to Sandy creek cricket club and watch cricket and drink beer with me. The bar will be open and hot food will be available.
Back to the creek it is.

Do we assume that Gilbert Valley won yesterday?
the Sandy lads have been quiet and not knowing the end result I figure this is the best evidence to go by???
Would make for an interesting last couple of weeks for Sandy and Nuri,
Crucial games for both to make finals.
Gilbert valley deserve a heap of praise either way, most of us (including some of their own boys)
Thought it would be a lean year for them, but they have been very solid all year.

Whilst I am handing out congrats,
Another one to Kapunda today, took us to the cleaners,
Shows it was a mere hiccup them going to a1 reserves as they are still a quality side.
And a good bunch of lads too (perhaps South could take note and learn a thing or two).
Guess we will just concentrate on the big dance in 5 or so weeks then.

Have Sandy Creek lost their scorebook or something? surely you can get the scores up by Monday afternoon...

In other news GCCC have lodged a complaint with the association against umpire Tony Tscharke for not letting us take tea 15 mins early to watch Black Caviar...
