Playon here is some news for you.
Like Bored has said there was nothing to gain by playing on? Coss may of been disappointed in not being part of the consultation process, but if both captains wernt going to agree what was the issue?
I think u will find he was pretty pissed off at the effort put in by his batters and im sure it wont happen again.
Memory bank serves me correct he was asked last season to help a team out with a result to which the answer was, y would i ******* help u blokes out?
Game over, go have a beer. I did see that Rose park had a function on that night at the pub so maybe they just took the chance of getting in there earlier?
I did see one bloke having a beer with them

there was no point in playing on though?

I cant really speak for the great man, but I think "Coss" was more annoyed at not being involved in the decision of calling the game off. That on top of our batting effort probably just set him off...

Can't comment too much as I only saw the first couple of hours play due to a wedding, but I think PV just had one of those days every cricket side goes through, where nothing went right. Clarke and Henderson's opening spells ended the match as when you're 6-25, you're not going to win too many matches. Not so sure it's the last time Rose Park will play PV, as I hear the Hulk is making a return and he's angrier than he was before

With the way the draw has worked out, it looks like Adelaide Lutheran will travel to Rose Park's home deck (St.Paul's College) for the next 4 weeks  And PV will play NEK over the next 4 as well, but not so sure if it's at the same oval.

sometimes you need to maintain your composure and make the right decisions. nothing to gain means get to the pub and break out the beers. keep on truckin.

at the end of the day i probably wouldnt have seen much sense out of playing on, but thats not the point. BOTH captains have to agree but was just pissed that i wasnt even consulted. A captain cant just call it himself because he has things he'd rather do. But its all good, we sorted it out after.
As for last seasons episode that you mentioned, at the start of the day you guys needed 40 or 50 runs and only just made them after tea. You needed an outright to have a slim chance. What you should have done is come out smacked the runs quickly then given YOURSELF a decent opportunity for an outright. If you lost that game it would not have mattered anyway, so you cant really blame us for not thinking it through yourselves!

might have to disagree with you there playon the game was played in good spirits was probably just the oversight at the end there but things like that can happen sometimes in the heat of the moment.
All good, lets move on hey.

In other News the one who herds goats is out of hospital and doing well

Thanks guys. Yep, great to be home after 4 days in that freakin' asylum.  Ready again now to recommence flaming the never-ending queue of clueless peanuts that hop on here & bag our Assoc & players, perhaps with a little more 'controlled' tongue, ay LM...?? ;)

Spewin' I wasn't out there yesterday with you lads carey, although a few might have been spared the odd perforated eardrum or two after our piss-poor effort with the bat! Pidgey excepted, we expect that standard from him.. :P ;) Good fightback, but still not a win. Certainly not disgraced in the whole wash up. Bring on the Carnival. 8)

Ah yes like a super hero, the never ending battle against clueless peanuts  I like it..

Reminds me, good to see young Gully amongst the wickets Sunday, geez I love that kid, but most importantly to all those people who were posting earlier in the season that the assoc. side should only be considered and selected from div 1, well this is EXACTLY the reason why players in other divisions are considered!

There are players for what ever reasons that are playing in other grades that are more than capable cricketers and good blokes all round.

I recall a carnival game back in the day where the the SA second 11 defeated the First 11. Mr PG hit a ton that day in a side with a fair few non div 1 players ;) Oh the memories.

Spot on PG (geez, can't ever recalling trotting those 3 words out before.. :P ). All 3 Clubs whose A Grade compete in Div 2 have competed in Div 1 in the past. Seaton have been in Div 2 for a number of seasons prior to this one as well. So to limit our player choice to Div 1 would be ridiculous and extremely narrow-minded.

Goes to show how rubbish that 1st XI was, i've struggled to hit more than 100 runs in a season since then!
Good to see Mick Feltus hit a ton on the weekend though, another famous gold member ;)

 Geez, that woulda been 'agricultural'!!!!

Probably the one & only gold team ever in the history of ACCA, and a privelege it was to be part of it! A mix of some quite talented cricketers and some absolute Barry Crockers! Like Chris "Thalidomide Arms" Izzo and Paul "Pat Cash" Summers..

Actually he sent me a picture of the scorecard (I was away and missed it) but looks to be around 60 runs scored in 1's!!
Told him he should thank me because I had to talk him into playing last week because my brother pulled out and my car was getting repaired so I needed a lift
