Congratulations to Cameron Shenton, Golden Grove Junior who was selected by St Kilda in today's AFL rookie draft.

A few years ago he was lining up in A grade trial games for the 'Burra's before jumping at the opportunity when it arrived.

Plenty of other kids drafted from all over the country today and last month, but with our relativley short history, forgive us for beingly openly proud of our local products. Cam joins Shane Edwards and Daniel Menzel as GG's current AFL listed players.

Best of luck mate!!!!!

You have every right to be proud mate...would think that GG area will produce a few more in time too...Shenton is a terrific mark and big work rate. His leg will improve in AFL system.

Have it on good advice that a few of the Kooka's are not taking well to the new coach.... Namely some veterans of the club which are considering using their power to make some 'changes'.

Your mate obviously hasnt been around that long to really call Mitch a new coach. By vetrans are you talking about players or people around the club that are not happy?? How about expaining what you are actually talking about??

If they are players then your mail is wrong, there is not that many "vetrans" running around at this time of year and the ones that are "vetrans" or older as I like to put it, we all know our place and where the club is heading.

Get your good friend "the source" to come and see me face-to-face then and raise the issue he is having like a real man. If you don't have the bean bags to speak up and prefer to do it to some nobody from another club then go join them. Simple.

Id suggest that the veterans may not know their place. Im just interested in knowing if it's a known issue at the club, I have been approached by a couple of people regarding transfers and my SAUCE (correct spelling) mentioned that it is an issue with the "new" coach.

To be honest, im not too familiar with the situation down there. How new is the new coach?

If your 'sauce' is Big Red then I wouldn't worry what you've heard.... There have been no transfers of note either so not sure what your 'source' has been feeding you !!
The 'new' coach was the coach before Mark Weaver. Coached us from Div 6 to Div 4 in 3 years and has alot of respect.

For what reason would these vetrans approach you personally?? Are you involved with any club in particular?? I have been at a heap more trainings this pre season and everyone that has been out there has plenty of respect for Mitch, he is not just an A grade coach but a club coach, good guy and if someone has a gripe I would suggest they either have a higher opinion of themselves or they have simply not done the work so far.
