The Marion v OSB is an unknown! I'll go the Lions in a close one. Christies to beat the Hawks fairly comfortably in the other game.

Unbelievable we have round 1 going on while trial games are still happening- then we all get a week off before starting!

8 Division 1 Premierships between 2 of those 4 clubs you just slurred as "Div 2"

Care to remind us how many Flaggies have in their cabinet?

LGIL, I think you'll find Flagstaff Hill isn't really Straight Lines supported team!

Fair enough, I could take a comment like that from a Willunga supporter or perhaps a Morphett Vale supporter but few others have earned the right as yet.

No offence to Flagstaff Hill by the way, they are building their way very nicely at the moment.

IS IT REALLY A SLUR? Is there shame involved with being labelled a div 2 club? I think a few clubs (Christies in particular) need to get a grip on reality and realise where their club is presently at. I'm sure every club strive's to be a "div 1 club" but let's face it there are quite a few clubs failing to do so.

I think they have a very good chance of moving into the top 8 this year with a good coach and handy recruits but lets face it they haven't exactly set the world on fire over the last 10-15 years.

I too like the Falcons i reckon they will take the leap into the top 2-3 this year. Emu's, Falcon's, Bombers the main chances for me with Vikings as a smokey.

I reckon perhaps Happy Valley shorter and Noarlunga perhaps longer. The clearances say the $hoes have just lost that Luke Bowd, that young ruckman Shultz, and Dobrovolksis amongst others like Minns and Barnes, whilst Valleys have also lost a few but i read that have big Squizzy Squires coming back, as well as "the flying hyphen" Peterson-Grey who i believe is also a forward? Not to many SFL defences can cope with that many big forwards, especially when ya add Mckenzie and/or May in there.

Anyone know what is going on with Anzac Day this year? Is there a GF rematch on or anything?

Was thinking the same thing too, especially when you add Jon Eagleton to the mix. For mine it's Bombers, Emus, Valley and Wineflies, as I have learnt never to write them off. I think the hype over Flaggies may be premature, but would be happy to be proven wrong as they have deserved their revival with good coaching, recruiting and retention-Shearer will be a bonus.

I too think the Flaggies hype may be premature but I hope to hell that I am wrong!!! Still a very young side and not many big bodies; good pace and great team spirit but how far will that take them? Time will tell.

Sucks for Marion who play this saturday, then off for easter then have a bye. Trial games after round 1 would have to be a first!
