Ahhh that old chestnut again!! As discussed previously don't think they would be offered a high enough division to keep all their players satisfied.

Week 1 predictions

Marion to beat lonsdale in a bit of an upset. 1 to 3 goals
Interesting to see the game style Marion adopt this year with a few better players, I hope they attack an take it on rather than flood heaps of numbers back.
Also I see lonsdale either folding or moving leagues within 2 years if SFL does not revert back to 2 divisions...

Christies to beat hackham by 5 to 8 goals
both will be more competitive sides than last year. Will be bigger slightly older bodies of saints vs quick fit and young hawks.

Like to thank townies for the hit out.... played in great spirits... we won, trial match or not its always great to knock them off ;)
goodluck for the season ahead...
had to laugh though when i heard the 'A' grade coach say "this trial doesn't mean much other than a confidence boost for our lads"... said in typical townies fashion...
they like to run in numbers. and sweat off stoppages... seem to argue between eachother when things aren't goin rite... well that the impression i got...
im assuming townies had a few out (as did we) but they seemed a bit under done, touch unfit.. some skillful players, number 44 is a gun....

Looks to be a long year ahead for Lonsdale. Seen some of their clearances "out" and it looks a tough ask this year.
A lot of my good mates down there (Good footballers too) and hope the best for them.

Reynella will smash them, although might get a shock on the size of the ground!

You may just get a surprise

Ironbank winners by in excess of 10 goals.

SFL 2012 PREMIERSHIP
Brighton.....................$2.75
Morphett Vale..............$4.50
Noarlunga...................$6.00
Happy Valley...............$9.70
Flagstaff Hill................$9.70
Reynella....................$14.00
Cove.........................$21.00
Port Noarlunga...........$29.00
Edwardstown.............$41.00
Morphettville Park.......$41.00
Aldinga....................$301.00
Christies Beach.........$401.00
Hackham.................$401.00
Marion...................$1001.00
OSB Lonsdale.........$1001.00

Anyone got different opinions?

My Tips for Rnd 1:
Marion & Hawks

I reckon perhaps Happy Valley shorter and Noarlunga perhaps longer. The clearances say the $hoes have just lost that Luke Bowd, that young ruckman Shultz, and Dobrovolksis amongst others like Minns and Barnes, whilst Valleys have also lost a few but i read that have big Squizzy Squires coming back, as well as "the flying hyphen" Peterson-Grey who i believe is also a forward? Not to many SFL defences can cope with that many big forwards, especially when ya add Mckenzie and/or May in there.

Anyone know what is going on with Anzac Day this year? Is there a GF rematch on or anything?

Was thinking the same thing too, especially when you add Jon Eagleton to the mix. For mine it's Bombers, Emus, Valley and Wineflies, as I have learnt never to write them off. I think the hype over Flaggies may be premature, but would be happy to be proven wrong as they have deserved their revival with good coaching, recruiting and retention-Shearer will be a bonus.

Getting good reports on the new look Viking squad - some lads coming back to the club and some new inclusions - not just the Lofty lads - reckon they could well be a smokey - bring on round 1....

Disappointing start to the year by OSB and Hackham- could be a tough year for them both.

Happy Easter SFLers- looking forward to season start next weekend!
