Disappointing day for the boys. Few teething issues but enough talent there to work with. Only 4 players out there that played v Christies last year so huge turn around. Christies were good they look very refreshed under new coach and are playing a very fast attacking brand with plenty of run that should surprise a few teams.

Agree with that statement

heard that a few poor selection choices were made thursday night at bomberland as some players getting a free spot in the a grade after thier lack of presence during pre season. Whats going on dth? is it the bay influence back in the club. Also dth you should make the most of the expressway this year with the move of the bombers into div 3 amateur league next year its going to be traffic lights and more trafic lights.

Happy Valley about to be installed as premiership favourites?
My mail has them about to land a very well credentialed recruit, even though weekly player payments are already high, they are willing to do what ever it takes to land this one.......

Any chance this is recently retired Norwood & Ex-AFL player, whose 2 brothers are both playing at the Valley?

Would be a bit difficult if he's agreed to be an assistant coach at Norwood and has retired due to a hip injury. Seems to be attracting a lot of rumours at the moment including that he was headed to North Adelaide after a fall out with the coach. Would be a good get if he was available, but I'll take this one with a grain of salt for now. Would attract zero points too as he was a Valley junior.

Good to be back to real footy and glad to have season 2012 underway

A couple of points from recent posts - given that a hip injury has caused the retirement of the player being discussed it would be unlikely that he would be pulling on the big V but that doesnt mean that he wont be around to watch the lads - as he was on Saturday

If the reference to a player quitting when he is dropped to the B grade is about Pomeroy news to me he had quit but when you are home one week a month and havent been training you cant expect to walk straight back in - nor did his form on Saturday warrant selection in the A grade any time soon - the big difference with Valleys this year is there is genuine pressure on for a spot in the A grade which has been missing due to a lack of depth in recent years.

Interesting game on Saturday - Flaggies are definitely on the up and it got tight in the last quarter.

Game was ugly on our behalf probably because it was first time this team has played together - made worse with a season ending injury for one of our key players

I would have thought the reference was more to the fact that Eagleton was named in the 2's for Norwood in round one but didn't front up and then retired

A few months back a mate of mine from Valley was saying they were rumoured to be in contact with former Crow (sorry lads, cant come up with a pictionary style visual hint like above) Ben Marsh about playing a few games for the Vikings... could it be him Petoe is referring to if not the flying Egg?

Dissapointing to hear about May's broken leg - and even more disappointing to read about Mister Footy's lack of faith in the ROID!

If it was Ben Marsh CT, then surely Happy Valley would drift quite considerably in betting rather than be installed as premiership favourites.

Ben Marsh is the Ruck Coach at flaggies this year, so can't see him putting on the boots for their rivals down the road

I headed down to watch the Reynella and Morphett Vale clash on Sunday. A great game of hard, skilful football marred only by one disgusting incident where after a scuffle a bleeding Reynella player wiped his blood on the face of a Morphett Vale player. Both players were blood ruled with only one bleeding. I understand a report has been made and the Reynella player in question is facing the tribunal tonight. I hope the SFL take this incident very seriously and a fitting penalty is handed down.

This explains Valley's victory on the weekend. The Mole is up to his old tricks!!

Agreed. Pommeroy is a legend and no doubt will be back bigger and better. All the best to May for a quick recovery, nasty injury by all reports and in Round One.
On another point,
Interesting the rumour circulating that no players went to the Noarlunga rooms after they beat the Bombers, only to be refuted immediately by ShoeBoy. People will always believe what they want to. Was there upset players, yes, but what would you expect after that performance...Shoes deserve the credit though, were prepared and got the job done, well done.

Don't believe that post about no Brighton players going into the bar I would put money on Trevor rigney being at the bar :D  :D
If brightons effort was as soft and ordinary as I'm reading on here and they only went down by 6 points, then I'm tipping they will be quite dangerous when they get going!!
Haven't heard anything about this recruit heading to the vikings but was impressed by there work rate saturday against a fit looking flagstaff. Think things might be nice and tight at the top this yr which is great..
