No reason their JC's couldn't keep playing in a spot where one of the other clubs don't have JC's.
My opinion is remove them now and take the results from the previous two rounds out of the ladder, goal kickers etc. Just make it a bye when you play them - it is essentially that anyway, just more dangerous.

You'd know...

The only reason the two teams that have played them previous would have anything to kick up a fuss about if there were any injuries? I'm not to sure if there were or not. But it looks like both matches were pretty much a bye anyway. So why not kick them out now, Playing unregistered players is unacceptable and if a team in the 5 were to do it I'm sure the HFL would react then. The longer it goes on the More the HFL League looks like a JOKE and and I'm sure it is contributing to more and more Juniors pulling out due to the fact they assoicate the league with the likes of Callington/United Eagles and think its a weak league.

If Callington were removed in the near future, all evidence that they existed in 2012 would also have to be removed. That means goal-kickers, even Mail Medal votes and most of all, percentage gained against them. Otherwise clubs who haven't played them yet have an absolute right to protest in that they didn't get a chance to accumulate that percentage when others did.

Worst case scenarios would be that a club missed the finals on percentage, below a club which had played against Callington.
Or a player who just missed being highest goalkicker in Country Div because the winner had played against Cally and he hadn't.
Both are entirely feasible situations.

The League must now fathom this very tricky and perplexing situation as best they can. It should never have been allowed to happen and should have been dealt with decisively before the season started. I suppose the best option is to withdraw Callington after all sides have played all. But then, where do Callington go as a club? They refuse to play 'C' Grade and it would be too late to include them anyway. Junior Colts could be easily accommodated; no problems there.

I personally wouldn't like to see United Eagles go under, or any Country Club for that matter. I and many others who love country footy remain totally mystefied about this scheme of things. How has it ever come to this?

A club without tradition will never survive. The problem stems back from how the club was formed. A group of mates deciding they will form a club to have a kick together was always destined to fail. It was just a matter of when.

Valid comment FTO. But how does a club start tradition? Towns such as Callington and Kanmantoo which were almost non-existent 20 years ago are now going to be the Nairnes and Echungas very soon, and no-one disputes their tradition. As I see it, the root of the problem lies in the fact that the group of mates wanting a kick together didn't live in the town. Callington was essentially used as a base and a fall-out for disillusioned Mt. Barker players. Nevertheless, many locals wanted this tradition, but they don't anymore because the goal-posts moved too much over the years.

Bullshit, Ironbank was exactly this in 1986, and although we have not had Div 1 success, the club is in a strong position from where it began as a C grade side and is moving forward. It all depends on who is in charge.

The bloody HFL should've made a decision about Cally a long time ago, nothings changed and nothing will. How long have people been saying this now?

EXACTLY!! This is the point I've been trying to raise to the HFL but they won't listen. Milang were in a similar position and have now re-grouped and playing some good C grade footy. This provides them with the avenue to be able to build the club from not much without trying to stick band aids everywhere like CUE are doing.
Suck it up Callington, drop out of Div 2 and enter a C grade team this year (I don't think it's too late at all to enter a team this season) and start rebuilding your club!

Your right on the ball HTR and totally correct, yes that was how the Eagles were formed and yes all the points you raised are fair and true.
Cs are the way to go. Good to hear about Milang, it can be done. I hear its a bit hard to get a game down there these days HTR?

Yes you are exactly right within three years any "new" club could be back with the likes of the Eagles.
If they screw up with their administration they can destroy a club.
I will get a bit verbose but Crumber, Hear the Roar, Gimp and the Drovers Dog could add to this:
Clubs survive on volunteers, boundary umps from juniors, line drawers, timekeepers, gatespeople, qualified bar people, cleaners of the change rooms, trainers, video producers, electricians to keep the lights going, older players letting the youth come through and only filling in (when it gets too cold), negotiators that ensure fair conditions for both netball and football on game day, sponsors of the best possible conditions to promote the juniors, sponsors that ensure the community that lives in the area is serviced with an equitable club and remembering, what they were formed to do in the first place.

Alaska you are so right. I can contribute to this discussion from the point of view of a C Grade club. We won today quite decisively and all are pretty chuffed. All our players play for the jumper and those who miss out do anything requested. $$$ don't come into it anywhere. All the areas you mentioned are covered (other than netball which we don't do), by willing volunteers. A very large support base motivated our players and it was heartening to see reps from the HFL observing this. Apparently there is room for Callington. Surely this must be a sensible option?

As an inaugural player of CUE it would be sad to see them go under.
I was told by someone before the season say that the Kanmantoo mine was going to be a major sponsor and bring some coin and good players to the club.
That didn't seem to happen.
Surely you can't kick them out while they are still fielding teams each week.
Sure, if they were forfeiting.
To kick them out part way into the season would be real messy IMO.
It would be unfair to teams who are yet to play them and get valuble percentage.
Next year C grade might be a better option.

Good to read a heartfelt post by someone who knows. Let's hope common sense coupled with tradition prevails. The Eagles would be very welcome in C Grade and would be assured all the support they need. It would be a great way to rebuild the club. Cheers mate. :)
