In regards to McLeod;

It is definitely a different ball game to what he has been playing for the last 20 years. Will take some adjusting to the sub standard footballers in Meningie and the RMFL - not meant to offend anyone. If I recall correctly he had about 30 touches in their first game, kicked three and set-up numerous inside 50s. As for the game against Mannum, 0.4 is far from his best day out, but I imagined he now has to win his own hard ball, play with little protection from his team and look for players out of position to pass to.

Very tough going into country footy, unless you're a stay at home forward.

Remember last year he dominated the QAFL competition for the NT Thunder - that I imagine would be easier for him to play than RMFL.

Thoughts?

No doubt what you're saying is true, & my rating of him was based on his first game against Mypolonga. Looked good that day!

Agree wholeheartedly Damian. Will take some time to adjust and look out when they do. You could see on the weekend Motlop made really good position and leads and the ball either got turned over, or the kicks were too high or low and not to advantage. Your point re 'finding his own ball' is spot on!

Good summary Bazza. Motlop didnt have the best delivery and will only get better. A lot of credit too must go to Mannum. They played really well and the pressure from Mannum on the Bears midfielders delivering into the forward 50 made it tough.

They are a really good team Mannum. Meningie will get better too.

Not sure how many games he'll play but he's guaranteed to make an impact, so opposition teams better be ready.

Gee he has a real crack, have to love his work rate, intensity and team spirit. He will continue to improve and find his feet in a new side. His pressure on the ball carrier is really good, his skills aren't too bad just needs to work on finding more of the ball.

Heard today that the Mannum juggernaught may be seeking an exemption, as per Meningie for Jason Ackermanis in their round 2 clash against Meningie.

I hear he can sell himself until 30th June, when the clearance period finishes. Not a bad part time gig for Acka.

I wonder if the RMFL has created a bit of a dangerous precedent with the "McLeod rule".
