Couple of interesting results today. What happened to Nairne?? Thought they were the real deal this year?? Anyone see the game and can comment?

And Meadows over Birdwood by a point. Didn't see that coming.

Over 25 players missed out on a C grade game for Blackwood last night. I'd suggest if there's some Country Div clubs looking to boost their numbers and they have a player contact or two at Blackwood they should get on the phone. There's a whole side out there just training only. I know one Country Div side that could use some players.

The solution is for them to field a second C side and Callington come in also. This would avoid a bye and give everyone a game. This would be dependent on the outcome of tomorrow nights' meeting at the HFL. If Callington agree, I think this could happen almost immediately.

I think you'll find that meeting has been cancelled after some legal advice was sorted. This was rumour at yesterday's games.

It has been confirmed that the mighty Callington will see the year out in Country Division. The threat of having to pay out player contracts and sponsorship deals apparently saw the Hills League ducking for cover.

The League probably only has themselves to blame. Its obvious to most people this issue should have been addressed well before now.

Exactly. The league have sat on their hands for the last 3 years not doing anything and they had all off season to do something and again the whole league have to pay for their inaction. If only we had enough other people to put their hand up to sit on the board and get rid of this pathetic excuse of board we currently have which is nothing more than an old boys club that doesn't have the balls to make a tough decision.

Player contracts  , who would honestly be on a contract at Callington? The gate keeper maybe. for too many years this crap has been going on with Callington, the HFL board have got no balls, P### week.

They're getting outsiders to play there, not many would presumably go there for the sake of it.

I can't believe how much exposure Cally gets on here.
Dare I address something else - who's gonna challenge Echunga? Have Birdwood dropped a bit?

Brookers vs Echunga Grand Final....no one will challenge them

Brookers have 5 quality inclusions over last years side.. they are playing a couple of point players in the bs so plenty of backup if they have injuries.

Kangarilla Vs Echunga - Have the Wakefield boys been turning up for Kangy? I would have thought they would add a bit of class to the midfield down at kangy, they will need it this week. Echunga by 15 goals +

Just read this, the wakefield's and class are like chalk n cheese, they're meat heads but I'm guessing you were taking the piss...

Should be a good game between the Roosters and Brookers on Saturday. Birdwood posters have been very quiet this year.
