Is promotion/relegation on the table this year? Would Echunga enter the idea of a move to Central Div?

why front runners? seems like birdwood are being pretty open about it all... not as strong as we were last year, and the results are reflecting that.
we'll get some players back second half of the year and still give a lotta teams a good shake.

Why Echunga? We're 4 rounds in and it looks to me like Kersbrook are also moving well.

Promotion/relegation is the only feasible idea for the HFL.
Three Divs aswell.

Few wrinkles to be ironed out but the problem with country div clubs going up is the fear of losing juniors who dont want to get belted week in week out. On the other hand you lose the good ones anyway because they want to play city div so what is to be done?

Here's an idea....

How about splitting the juniors senior comp so that there are two-three divs in both. Promotion/relegation and those with juniors are not penalised and those without them could likely still end up with some games before their seniors run on.

One HUGE problem with this though is that blooding senior colts into senior football becomes very hard and in turn the points system can no longer be shaved as well as senior colts wont be able to fill in for the b'grade to avoid a forfeit.

Front running = only boasting and being affable when things are going well. Going quiet when things are not.

Hence above, gone quiet because things aren't going well?
I hear that Birdwood are not the only ones who will be having some very handy recruits returning in the run home.

The Country Division always seems to be like a rollercoaster for teams. Echunga struggled not making finals for years and finally won their flag last year (which pretty much took 8 years to build) Meadows won 4 in a row and have gone back into a re-building stage (however are still being competative) What Bennefit would Kersbrook/Echunga or Birdwood gain from going up into Central Division? Echunga/kersbrook would be competative (TV has proven that - They took a team that wasnt Half the team they were in Country Div up and still beat some of the lower teams) The problem is keeping your team once you move divisions! It seems like once a club tastes a little bit of success and grows stronger other clubs are looking to move them on, instead of building their club up to be just as strong as the Top teams. The Country Division has become a stronger comp amongst the top teams and looks like the 3 divisions is the best idea for all clubs involved.

How wierd that we're not boasting! And as for being quiet, all anyone ever talks about is Callington these days.

The vibe at the Velodrome is a real positive one at the moment. We've got a lot of injuries (not an excuse) but its giving us the chance to play a lot of the younger lads.

This weeks will be a big challenge, one we're all really looking forward to.

Do Birdwood still pray before games? They'll have to pray a helluva lot before they play Kersbrook this week

I see nothing has changed Kangarilla way. Always been a bunch of sooks. They were in the SFL, won themselves a flag in the HFL and now they're back to where they belong.

Agreed. Plus this debate was had last season & a point came up - I think it has to be made clear at season's commencement that the bottom-placed club will go down etc etc, not as the season ends. Obviously I'm an ex Dev & I think to place emphasis on one year after we had a bit of a purple patch 3 years back would suck as i don't think the future's as bleak as this year's results suggest.
The team coming up...that's one that no-one seems to put their hand up for. Points have perhaps evened things out somewhat but the Hughes influence (ie someone with big coin) still gets big recruits to clubs, something a Country team would need.
