The solution is quite simple and just requires the SFL to place some urgency on getting 2 divs up and running from next year. I want Brighton to remain in the SFL and I would find it difficult to continue following them if they went to ammos and would most likely change my allegiance to my most local club. I believe the SFL want to try and get 2 more clubs (Kangarilla and Blackwood), but can't seee that happening as they are pretty settled in the Hills League.

The way to placate the masses is simply to do something rather than saying that nothing can be done until at least 2014. If a forum was to be convened urgently between all clubs and the logistical and other issues tabled, then the comp could be ready to go with 2 divs in 2013. There is a serious lack of drive from the SFL to get this happening and the longer it takes, the more clubs will look elsewhere to play. Yes agree whats happening !!!!!-- have been told that SFL is still waiting on the top 5 clubs to put up a nomination for the sub committee. So i dont think its SFL's fault but that of the 5 clubs that are dragging there feet once this happens the sub -committee will be up and running

The SFL Board should just make the decision and allocate Clubs to 2 divisions.

Clubs can threaten to leave, complain or protest in any way that they like but in reality where will they go? And would it be approved?

If a Club wants to move leagues it needs to be approved by both leagues involved, if one protests (ie SFL blocks the move), the CFB make an decision on whether they should be allowed to go or have to stay.

Geography is a big factor in these decisions... do you think that the CFB would approve as an example Aldinga to the Hills, Reynella to the BLG or Morphett Vale to the GSFL?

All good debate by Clubs but the threats are not worth a lot, just an understandable frustration for the clubs suffering.

It would depend where you finish in the last year before we go to 2 divs. But I only think whis is fair if 1 whole years notice was given by the SFL. Then you would have a chance to plan/recruit etc, no excuses.

Agree it's not that complex, although many would argue that you would have to take a bigger sample than one year's performance. Although the way this year is heading again, the usual suspects will all be in the 8.

I would see where the clubs finished at the end of this year and also next year so you could take it over 2 years because some clubs have a harder or easier draw etc or maybe just ask the clubs who wants to go in div 1 put them in for a year and see what happens. Div 2 may have 4 clubs left and bring 2 new clubs in for the first year then drop the bottom 2 from div 1 the year after. Could you imagine the s**** fight to stay in div 1.

What's stopping us to moving u18s to a Sunday league along with C grade?

The last time they tried this it ended up a debacle, after 12 years there was only 6 clubs left with teams playing and regular forfeits - even some of the big junior clubs were struggling for numbers.

This was at a time when there were 22 clubs in the league in two divisions.

Lets face it, 17 and 18 year olds don't want to play games on Sunday mornings!

The U/18 age group is probably more the issue, perhaps we need to look at moving it back to U/17.

In my opinion Edwardstown and Morphy Park should be forced to fill their Saturday junior sides (Another age old arguement). Sorts out half the problems with splitting up clubs. Builds club spirit with juniors admiring the senior players at their club, and grow up to love the colours they wear.
This season CBFC u/14s and U16s travel to Morphy park 2 weeks out of 3 to fill a 5 game day for a club who has no Saturday Juniors. How about we send their Sunday juniors down to Bice oval to give us takings over the canteen, bbq etc on a Sunday?[/quote]

Typical response from a club not knowing how another works, operates or the time dedicated to trying to achieve this. We probably put more time and effort into chasing kids for these sides than the majority of clubs.

WE DON'T ASK FOR THESE GAMES TO BE ASSIGNED TO OUR OVAL IT COMES FROM THE LEAGUE. We would love nothing more than having our own juniors running around before our A's & B's. Oh but then if we don't put a successful junior program together and get belted every week the knives will be out calling for us to piss off to another comp.

PS you need to have your canteen open longer than 1/2 time of the A grade to get any takings, oh and food available too! Been to Christies too many times and can't get a cracker to eat.

Tough one i reckon. The transition of players when they finish 18's to senior footy is hard at the best of times. If they finish junior footy a year earlier, it will be an even tougher task to crack into the B grade, especially for the stronger clubs, so a lot of kids could be lost to footy. Having said that, if they were to stick around and play C's, the C grade comp might flourish a bit more, but like already mentioned - how many 17 year olds want to play on sundays??

I've seen him twice this year and he looks impressive - as does Jason Turner - but they seem to have this attitude of "oh we are out here playing in the bush and kicks come easy" but unfortunately for them it ain't easy. Class acts for sure but they need to knuckle down to playing classy football or they will continue to be crushed.
