Can anyone tell me if aldinga have players missing because that score is a bit one sided they really need some major changes at the club hope they can turn it around

As a Flaggie supporter don't know for sure but the B Grade certainly had a number of under age guys playing so would assume a few "regular" B's played A's. Having said that, Flaggies were on fire and Sammy kicked 22 - 1 and gave off a few before being "dragged" early in the last quarter.

Did Aldinga C grade turn up a day early or is that as good as they get? From the recent results in the league, perhaps if SFL league administration doesn't do something then the Community Football Board should extract their digits and actually help local football and intervene. Otherwise we'll see the entire Southern league falling further into disrepute. Not much point having a league that boasts such a long history wither like it currently is.

Hackham, Aldinga, Lonsdale, Christies, Marion, Morphy Parks are the first candidates for a second division. Introduce a real promotion and relegation system that clubs can't refuse and we'd have some pretty even results in future seasons methinks.

Looks like it. We had to leave at the end of the first quarter, but by then Flaggies had already booted 22. And yeah, some of the Bs played As as well, as did some of the 16s play 18s and the 18s play Bs. Apparently there was one bloke who played U18s, Bs and As - what a champion, hope he ate his Weet Bix this morning. I don't know what's going on. I saw the A grade side for the first time today and I recognised maybe four or five blokes, so there's been a huge player turnover this year by the look of things. Watched them doing their warmup and was pretty unimpressed - you've got people like Tyler Harman and Dwayne Morrison doing all the right things, but then there was a whole bunch doing their runs and stretches like an octogenarian with a prosthetic leg, and handling the footy as if it were made of bloody... I don't know, cabbage, instead of leather. It's worrying. If that half-arsed warmup is reflective of their game performance - and it's hard not to think so, when they're getting 50 goals kicked on them - I think a lot of people need to pull their fingers out and make more of an effort; I also think there are several B graders who could be working harder and earning themselves a spot in the As - they're certainly good enough. And before anyone starts going on about pot and kettle, Mr McSpaz is gunna be playing As from next week on; he couldn't today owing to family reasons. Anyway, I should wait until I've seen the As in action properly before making too many comments about them; but I do think that every player needs to have a look at what sort of attitude they're bringing to the footy field. The situation's not irretrievable, but it's not going to improve on its own either - people need to start putting in the hard yards.

I am a player who has played for a bottom SFL side for many years, I've tried to remain positive about playing footy and positive at my club but when you play in a league where half the sides are getting belted how can I remain positive? To the SFL board, you are destroying football for many people because of your inaction. Players that are not as positive as me will leave at the end of the year and we will be forced to recruit a side again and end up with the same result next year. We develop our juniors but how do you convince a whole under 18 side to play seniors for us when they are old enough when you are getting belted by over 200 points?!? They only stay because of their mates and because of a good club culture, this wont be enough to keep all of them. This is the same story for players from close to half of the league, we cannot wait a couple of years for two divisions. SFL board, act now!

Well said. I remember when we at Reynella were sh*thouse in the seniors but we at least had serious quality coming through in the juniors and players returning from league clubs, so we knew that it would not take much for the senior group to become a force again. I don't know how the people at clubs like Aldinga, Hackham, Lonsdale etc. can honestly enjoying playing footy in an environment where they know they will be absolutely belted week after week. You have to admire them for sticking with it but surely you can only do that for a couple or years before you either give it away altogether or find a more suitable competition to play in.

I fear that this year is probably the last chance the league has to get things right. If not, I'm sure there will be more quality players deserting the league at the end of the year and those who have gone over the last couple of years with a promise to return will have no reason to do so. Actually, maybe that is what the SFL Board is trying to achieve. Instead of strengthening the lower clubs, weaken the better clubs to such an extent that all clubs are pretty much the same and then we are back to a half way competitive league again.

In the last 4 weeks in A1, A2 and A3 only 11 games (out of 60) have had greater than 10 goal margins. About half of those 11 have been 11 or 12 goal results.

In the last 4 weeks the SFL has had 21 out of 32 games decided by more than 10 goals.

Just stating the obvious - it needs to be addressed immediately by the SFL.

I will say it again the strong clubs have to unite together and force the hand of the sfl board. But they all have to do it. Heres an idea how about having a vote of no confidence agaist the board and ousting them but if you want change you better have some good people to feel the shoes.
