Shaun McKernan given 1 week with no early plea due to bad record
David Wojcinski has copped 1 week for punching Jack Viney in the jaw in the VFL, he will also have to front up to the tribunal tomorrow night for rough contact after breaking Viney's jaw in a seperate incident.
3 jaws were broken in a very sputeful match

Was already carrying 93 pts due to the reprimand he got a couple of weeks ago.

Just needs to cop it and move on, risks more weeks if he challenges it.

Two weeks is a joke, great tackle and should be applauded. Hopefully he gets off. Keen as to see him play in Melbs next week.

Great tackle, for sure, stupid dumping him on the ground like he did, for certain.

Two weeks is about right when you consider some similiar incidents in 2011.

Not saying I agree with the decision, not by a long shot. :?

Always tackle them to the ground, well that's what I was taught...loved that Trengove tackle on dangerfield, should be embraced but now it's just a burden for players who want to tackle hard

Walker tackle fine if H.Taylors head didnt hit ground. Hams got 2 weeks for hitting his own player last week. Move on, challenge your group to win without him.

The Crows would be confident they can still kick winning scores without Walker there. Would love him to be there but I think this wont happen. He kicked 3 on the weekend and goals came from I think it was 10 others also?

I agree if Taylors head didnt hit the ground nothing would come of it. I think that this rule is dumb, taking tackles out of our game. I remeber a perfect tackle laid by Matt Thomas years back on Hentschel, ruined Hentschels career but nothing in the tackle, he tackled and dropped the knees. There were other tackles worse on the weekend let go by the MRP. I think Walker will risk the extra game and contest.

Can they reduce the amount of games recomended bythe MRP if he challenges or is it straight guilty or not guilty?

They would have to change the interpretation to change the penalty if he remains guilty. For example, change intentional to negligent or something like that. Otherwise it's guilty/not guilty.

You can't slam a bloke's head into the turf and it's a rule change I agree with. You've got to be smart. Unfortunately Tay Tay isn't. He was always going to cop a holiday for that.

People don't seem to be understanding the points system. Carry over points, previous record etc.

The MRP video of this weeks charges.

They seem to be making it up as they go along especially with the sliding in to get the ball. There's a few of these where a player has slid in, made no high contact, no injury and a free is paid, or where 3 players have slid in all at the same time, no high contact or injury and they're saying that a free should be paid, what the F for?
How the Walker tackle is worse than Lovitt-Murray's I'll never know, arms pinned and driven forward head first. Surely the possiblity of this action poses a huge danger to the head AND the neck. Walkers tackle only poses a possible danger to the head. My opinion only and I ain't no brain surgeon,,,so to speak. Murray doesn't even get 1 week or carry over points, it's a joke. The MRP decided that Murray's was not intentional, well he could've dropped his knees and pulled Priddis down instead he chose to propell him forward head first, how is this not intentional and Walkers is deliberate?
Following these two examples are a series of head high contacts that would've resulted in weeks on the side lines last year, all could result in serious head and neck injury, all get off with nothing.
Some of the language used to explain these incidences sound more like they're looking for excuses not valid explanations. One player (GC v GWS game) bumps during a shepherd and makes head high contact yet the MRP say that "no player goes into a bump expecting high contact", well what sort of reason is that, WHO EVER DOES EXPECT TO MAKE HIGH CONTACT?
Most of these I'd be happy to let go but that some are and some aren't is just a joke.
