Omalley and Mueller were by far the standouts for them, Harvey was servicable but lacked a bit of pace.

Big news of the day would be Hall going down with what looked like a hammy and judging by his past injury issues, this could now become a ongoing problem for him this year.

Seems mypo were more than competetive against Imps and Meninge with there first win of the year is good news for them and there supporters.

Hall mustn't want to play association again ;)

mypo did a great job to stay in touch with Imperials as they did yesterday , imps seemed a little flat but got the job done when they had to. I have to say i told you so about Mannum and Ramblers , the latter are a class outfit and i thought they would get over Mannum easy . As for Hall dare i say it but as per the post a while back when Best players were mentioned , he is a player thats good when things a going well but certainly doesnt change the game, i quote a previous post " best when all you do is run around the back of freekicks or marks getting the handball off" easy way to get kicks is how i see it. Mannum need a lot more from him than that. I wish him a speedy recovery if he has infact done a hamstring but as per the last post he doesnt like playing association. The only upside is that he didnt play yesterday and would have saved Mannum a few dollars.

Dropped into Ramblers for a little bit today to watch
RMFL v HFL in U15s and U17s and got to watch two of the best junior games of footy I have witnessed

Credit goes to both teams right from the players to coaches, back in my junior days it was kick to catch football and you had to be a superstar to influence the game but today we had U15s players setting up zones, forward press, midfield set ups etc and I am just blown away to see the amount of talent in the RMFL juniors
My Ratings for 5 best players in each grade for RMFL
U15s - Jake Ireland (Mypo) Brad Lienert (Imps) Alesi Ankerson (Imps) Dylan Barry (Jer) Mitchell Allen (Man)
U17s - Brad Hartman (Ram) Ryan McKay (Jer) Jacob Rance (Imps) Brayden Dahlitz (Imps) Luke Warland (Imps)

RMFL won both grades by a kick

Great to see the young Cods get up in both grades today.... Shows how much junior talent there is coming through the association...

Also good to see Mannum get put back in their box two weeks in a row after getting all cocky after beating some very ordinary sides in the first few rounds....

Great win by both sides against 'traditionally' stronger opponents.

As for Mannum, clearly been beaten by better sides on the day the last two weeks. They've played 8 games in a row (2 trials, 6 regular) and last quarter fade outs MAY be attributed to this with such a young side. Not all clubs are blessed with a wonderful array of juniors (Mannum almost forfeited u'17's) and it'll take some time in developing the loss of several key players last year. Its a long year and Imps are clearly able to go that extra level when required. Myself, I wouldn't be writing Meningie off at all, they are coming!

First round of footy completed after this weekend. Ramblers and Imperial still the benchmark, with Mannum and Mypolonga expected to be challenger’s later in the year once their new sides settle. Jervois fall from grace has been faster than a lead balloon. If results go as predicted the ladder will look like this:

Ramblers
Imperials
Mannum
Mypolonga
Meningie
Jervois
Tailem Bend

Talking to Dalwood a few weeks back, said the league is looking to reduce the Murray Bridge side points allocation to 3 points each. He wasn't even on the sauce when he told me so.

Those 100 pound notes he gets rubbed down with each week are no longer keeping up with inflation. All due respect he has at least put his hand up as an assistant coach for the interleague squad.

I'd be surprised if Imps lost another game in the minor round, I'd expect them to finish top in the lead up to finals.

Jervois will have to presumably win 2 games to get off the bottom, interesting call that they will leapfrog Tailem, but very possible.

Looks like another Imps v Ramblers Grand Final.

I suspect the 2 MB teams won't give up without a fight re the points scenario. Perhaps may need a compromise of slightly higher than 3 points, and a few more points for the remaining clubs as well.

Those that know him are aware he turned down a scouting/assistant role with the WAFL vs SANFL match this weekend to assist with the RMFL. I'd say that counts as standing up and representing the league you play in.

I think the Mannum boys are doing what they do best in the last quater of footy the last 2 weeks and thats hide for cover. As for hally if what has been said about his wafl offer thats fantastic that he is committed to his rmfl duties . Obviously his best days of footy are long gone given that he has claims on so many medals(maybe he can wear them at the imperials home game) but may be a future coach in the making?? Will he be back for Mannum this year how bad is the injury? does anyone know? After seeing Mannum last week it appears they are just not fit they failed to run out a game again this week. I know im biased but imperials should win the flag easily, then Ramblers , Meningie, Mypolonga and the rest will battle it out.

Hally has previously been in recruitment for the Dockers and weeks off and byes see him perform those duties. He no longer scouts for the Dockers and has a bit more free time. I do know he is involved with St Kilda as his previous coach and boss at work from Subiaco now coaches them in Scott Watters.

Hally is truly a legend , i have also heard he is assisting the victorian team in its preperation against sa, further more hot of the press he has been seen talking to Mick Malthouse lately , apparently they have been summond by the Northern Terrortory government ( top secret)to coach the new northern terrortory side entering the afl. Maybe even more medals for the great man.

Back to the real stuff. Mypo and Ramblers is going to be a cracker this weekend. Mypo had a slip up against Mannum but restored some respect against Imps on the weekend. This will show who is a legitimate contender for that 2nd-3rd spot as unfortunately the Roos have dropped back to be fighting out for 4th - 5th.

So Ramblers are playing to finish second hey? Interesting considering we gave Imps a bath in round one and beat Mannum more comfortably than they did just a week earlier.

Get your head out the sand mate!

We have almost as many new players as Mannum and Mypo in our team and I only expect to get better as the season progresses. Our bench we had on the weekend had about 15-20 senior games experience between them so they will only grow in confidence and ability.

I admit at the start of the season that Imps deserved to be hot favourites and probably still are, fact is we arent playing for second and why would we ???

Agree with everything you said mate but dare I not listen to the Imperial faithful when they say they are head and shoulders above the rest. History says, there is generally some truth in it!
