I want people to understand the following things:

1. Neither of the parties involved are members or have an active involvement in the football club.
2. At no stage did any Ingle Farm player try to escalate the situation or get involved.
3. Several respected Ingle Farm members did their best to diffuse the situation.
4. The coach Wayne Knowles did a very good job to get the side inside and not involved in the situation.
5. The players behaviour in the game was his own doing and was not condoned by any of the players or coaching staff and was dragged immediately.

The club have a lot of good people involved and are trying to do the right thing to move forward, it's unfortunate that a minority ruin it for the club like on Saturday. I can assure you that nobody is hurting more than the IFFC right now over the incident Saturday.

The club definately has some areas of concern to address and I have no doubt that they will do that.
I don't think it's fair that people umbrella the entire IF club under a banner because of the actions of so few, although I understand and appreciate that the events reflect on the club as a whole.

you keep saying "because of the actions of a few" at the club, well why doesnt the club do something about it and f**k these people off for good, do not pick these players to play or ban the supporters at the club..... this you will then slowly move forward!!

I will go on record as saying that I myself was embarrassed and ashamed to have seen the incident and to have been affiliated with the club on Saturday night, it's the worst thing I have ever seen in my sporting life, and was ready to quit the club immediately.

After reflection though, I realise that it wasn't entirely the clubs fault, that they are trying to do the right thing and move forward but certainly issues need to be addressed. Policies and procedures need to be formed, implemented, monitored and enforced, with strict repercussions and consequences and really come down hard on the perpetrators - both on and off the field.

I have informed the president that I am more than willing to help out with this and try to change the image of the club, because it isn't just the A grade that suffers, it's the club as a whole and most importantly juniors. When "Hit the Pill" wrote his son will never play at Ingle Farm again, that should be the strongest indication to the club of the ramifications of Saturdays events and the neccessity to formulate code of conduct procedures etc.

I strongly believe that players need to be heavily sanctioned from within the club for poor on field behaviour. I do not care WHO you are or WHAT you've done!

I totally agree, and i'm sure those involved in Saturdays incident will be banned as they should be. A clear and strong message needs to be sent.

I also strongly believe that "the hill" where the group of former players and supporters gather MUST NO LONGER HAPPEN!!

As far as im concerned I dont give a rats arse about what these people have done around the club in the past or how many "dues" they have paid, having them sit out the front of the club drinking their own drinks is of no benefit to the club WHAT SO EVER! All drinks should only be made available through the club, that way RSA staff can somewhat keep under control the consumption of booze and perhaps can help avoid future incidents.

I know i'm probably being outspoken, and people at Ingle Farm may not agree with me posting what I do, but I am passionate and committed to what I do and I believe in the club and all the good people who are involved and the possibilities for the future, but if it greatly offends them that much then I will leave the club.

The club needs to address its image and its issues, be open about how it is perceived and began the lengthy task to change that.

It still has a wonderful junior program and develops fantastic kids, the number of juniors that go on to be affiliated with SANFL clubs is amazing, they do not want to lose that!

There seems to be a common trend between If & TOS matches.

Ban both parties for life, sets an example that the club wont put up with crap, i thought when we played you earlier in the year, you were very clean and played the game in the right spirits. Going back 5-10 years my club (clg) had a pretty bad reputation. We stopped picking the trouble makers, recruited young blokes who were not only good players, but also good people. During this preseason the coach and footy director chatted to allot of guys about joining the club, and some we decided not to pursue as they were not the right fit for us. Yes they could play the game, but we have to look at the bigger picture. We are working really hard on our junior program and now have 4 teams. The most pleasing thing for me is seeing junior parents, coaches, commitee coming down on saturday with there kids watching the senior team then sticking around for a couple of drinks afterwards.

new coaches with best intentions, implementing rules, want to see the club turn around it's fortunes, etc, etc. nothing different to ones that have left. All soon realise that looking in from the outside is easier than being on the inside and actually having to put these statements into practice. as you have said in the past PG, unless you have 40+ blokes that are really interested and committed nothing is gonna change.
coaches forced to bend rules initially then brake rules as pressure mounts to try and get a win, more losses, season looking down the barrel, less training as can't be bothered, more losses as fitness slides becomes a vicious circle.
coaches blamed for performance with too few to do to much, so they move on, when what is really required is a whole culture change and maybe finally some hard decisions will be made whatever the outcome for the betterment of the club and some of the bad element moved on permanently.
