Serious? Raynor was far and away the best on ground for Woody Sth on Saturday. He destroyed us in the 1st half when he was given too much space to roam, then in the 3rd quarter he was shut down beautifully and we kicked 11 goals - coincidence? - then in the last quarter when the game was on the line, he found away to bob up again and punish up with his speed and penetrating kick.

Their ability to move the ball long and quickly cost us, at one stage I think they moved it from deep in the back lines, monster kick to the middle, turn and kick to Stubberfield on the lead who went back and nailed it. 2 kicks to go the length of the ground and in probably about 30 seconds

Really enjoyed the Trip to Ingle Farm sat, couple of good wins for the Cats. The discipline on and off the field by the Farmers was outstanding. The B grade even though it got a fair touch up never stop trying nor went the knuckle.Had the pleasure having a beer on the hill with an old mate, and i know they have copped a bit of crap lately but seemed a normal bunch of blokes who enjoy a drink and some more, seen alot worse!.Think the farmers may be on the improve.

does seem from the results, etc. that they may have turned the corner. tough run home though with 7 away games to come and only one win on the board. they keep mixing it with the best though so anything could happen.

Probably the most frustrating/disappointing part at the moment, the fact that we are two games back on the bottom of the ladder with a mountain of work to save ourselves from relegation yet have shown on so many occasions this season that we belong in this div and are good enough to mix it with the best.

BOS - got within 4pts in the last quarter before losing by 3 goals or there abouts
ML - lead deep in the last quarter before a Lees goal from the boundary sunk us, lost by a goal
CU - 7 goal first quarter and led by around 4 goals at half time only to stop all together and get punished
HD - won
WS - 11 goal 3rd quarter, 5 goals up at 3/4 time, lost in the dying minutes.

yeah you've been unlucky and if you did get relegated and kept the same side, you'd be the shortest priced division 7 flag favourites in history! haha

Those results just show how tight this div is, if you lose concentration for 10 minutes in any game you'll get beat

There was only one bag egg there yesterday Phantom, and he should have concentrating on his job as an assistant rather than hand out advice to ALL the men in orange. ;) The only thing I can say about his post about the officials on Saturday, is I've seen a helluva lot worse in Div 6! And it's not if any of it had ANY baring on either result. His 1st post didn't do the day justice. Both games played in good spirits with nothing sinister like I've been reading about in today's Sunday Mail. Hope the lad from CLG's B grade who suffered a suspected broken ankle makes a speedy recovery and gets good news from the docs.

was confirmed broken unfortunately. poor bugger had an interview up in the mines scheduled for either today or tomorrow.

agreed the game was played in good spirits, Mawson Lakes deserved the win because they played a better 4 quarter game than we did.

after seeing him close up Brad less is a class act. probably only had 10 kicks but kicked 7 goals. his vertical leap is crazy and it means you almost have to play a tall on him, kinda like Phil Hall from CU. He will be important for teams to shut down at finals time.
No offence to Woody South but i think Mawsons are the team to beat this year, big bodies through the middle that get harder to tackle the longer the games go on. good mix of talls and smalls and plenty of firepower up forward. not much between the two (woody sth and ML) but i think Mawsons have the edge, just.

Third quarters continue to hurt us, we've tried everything to wake the boys up after we come out of the sheds but cant seem to switch on. anyone out there got any ideas? someone from Trinity maybe? :P

Maybe you guys could try not going back into the change rooms at half time just to keep the mentality that the game is still going because you are still out on the ground. Just a suggestion.

You must have been caught up in the Raynor hype like everyone else including the umpires. Got a lot of easy touches hanging out on his own when we decided not to tag him in the 1st half. Didn't like the tag and didn't have a huge influence in the 2nd half but is still too good to go kickless, also got some easy frees. If he was best then that is taking a bit away from a couple of their other players who probably did the hard work to get the ball to Rayner out on his own. Next you'll say Stubby was in their best, when he kicked 3 early and 3 late but nothing for an hour in between. Is 1/2 a game good enough.........On a side note, what is it with their 2 key forwards and their AFL style celebrations after goals to about 10 WS supporters on the sidelines, you look like dicks seriously and Stubbys little bow on one knee, fair dinkum.

You're first half goal kicking was unbelievable, best I've seen this year. You were not missing, slotting them from every angle possible!

Did the same against us, can't remember how many before they kicked a point but it was a few and could have even been in the 3rd

with the amount of practice we did on it during the week we had to get some sort of return..i meant specifically after half time riddler..the last quarter to be exact..week before was 4:8 in the last and hit the post twice..your boys were very disciplined getting back and clogging up space in the last..you must have had 10 + marks in our forward 50 in the last quarter..we started bombing it to much..thats included in kicking poorly :)

old farmer: yes..our best kicking for the year in that first hour against you guys,10 straight i believe in the rain..

Nope not caught up in any hype, he carved us up. Yep may have been easy touches early on because he was allowed to roam free, but he made us pay, and we have no one to blame but ourselves for that, and then in the last quarter when it mattered he found the space and ball again, and again cut us to shreds.

No I thought Stubberfield was ordinary, couple of gimme goals early, then a few late in the last quarter, but like you said stuff all in between, and I thought he never looked a threat, lazy forward. If he didnt mark it, he didn't seem bothered to apply any sort of defensive pressure.

Had we won the game, I would say that ruckman Steve Gannell would deserve the 3 votes, he turned the game in our favour with an outstanding 3rd quarter, dominated the ruck and gave our on-ballers 1st use out the middle. He got around the ground really well and took some strong marks as well. Rick Mount was absolutely outstanding for us as well, kid just keeps on keeping on!!

Shame to hear. Seemed such an innocuous incident as well with a few players going for the ball on the ground, with one not getting up at all :( He managed to crack a smile and a joke with the ambos, but he me might have known his fate by then. Hate to see a guy's livelihood effected by football injuries and wish him a speedy recovery.

Was a good game of footy BFG, and CLG with a young list will only get better.

exactly..i saw it happen and thought he had stubbed his toe or rolled his ankle..his first season of football as well..

it was a good game warrior and i think what went on yesterday on here was just a bit of passion and frustration from both sides bursting through onto the forum..we all make mistakes including myself and i am first to admit that..we ARE gracious losers contrary to what some may think from your club..opinions on the other points are just that..they had nothing to do with the result as was reiterated..the best team on the day won in both grades

he's always smiling pagey but jeez he's having a rough trot at the minute.

we'll be hoping for a much more consistent second half of the year. The playing group still believes they can match it with anyone if we play to our best so all we can do is keep fronting up and having a crack.

after seeing him close up Brad less is a class act. probably only had 10 kicks but kicked 7 goals. his vertical leap is crazy and it means you almost have to play a tall on him, kinda like Phil Hall from CU.

No I think what you are doing will be fine for 1 more game BFG :D. Feel free to go into the change rooms at half time when you play us - it might work for you because by the time you get there it will be time to turn around and come back.
