If he can shake the hard tag, which made him ineffective at SANFL level
I think Valleys have plenty of hardnuts who can help clear a path for him. With less officious umpiring, I'd expect any tagger to be given a solid workover.
So your saying there is no hardnuts playing SANFL footy ? I would think taggers would be able to hold and scrag alot more and get away with it at SFL level. I would like to see him play In the SFL make for good viewing and good experience for the young fellas that come up against him. Why wouldn't of his clearance been accepted yet??
No I'm not saying that at all, you're putting words in my mouth. What I am saying is that in the SFL, the umpiring allows more scope for players to put work into a tagger on and off the ball. Not sniping stuff, but physical punishment. In the SANFL this will be more readily penalised. Yes a tagger can scrag more, but if he knows he is going to cop it every time he does it, and not just from his opponent, then the tag is less likely to be successful.
One of the great things about the SFL's good games, or dare I say Division 1 club games, is that sides rarely send taggers out to shut down a player. There is emphasis on getting the ball and holding your opponent accountable. By and large, with the exception of a couple of Townies games, teams do not tend to push big numbers behind the ball either.
