Great Flinders 10-14-74 def Eastern Eyre 3-4-22
left just into the second quarter of City and Mid West and City were up by about 6 goal. Think they would need to win by about 8-10 goal to win it, but that is just a guess.

Then the other 3 games this morning Districts beat Far West and KI in their games and i think Far West beat KI, but don't quote me on that last one.

Disappointing gf didn't get a chance to improve on their 2012 record v linc city this we!!

2013 mortlock would be more interesting if the following six teams played, tasmans, mp, waybacks, gf, ee, mid west!

The Star was the leading goal kicker, Paul White got the Bampton, not sure on the U21.
Paul Warmington from Far West got Best Ump.

congratulations to muzza and the boys.couldnt help but think what a better game city vs flinders would of been.under the original foremat that everyone complained about they might of played one another.each year will always throw different situations that could be improved depending on the draw.just after comment what does everyone reckon of a league of origin.out of the city side i reckon the seal boys would of been welcome at EE.the way employment is heading on the EP it may have merit.

Agree Sonya, but it would have been hard this year, where do you put City and where do you put Districts?
This year we will get the nepotism comments (City winning and Districts still getting a trophy), but at least next year, it will be back to a format based on results from this year.
2012 draw was out of Brock Jantke's hat. No joke.

seal boys, rodda, francis, franklin, jericho. pretty sure they could find room in eastern eyre for most of them. i have thought about the origin thing before, it would make it pretty interesting really.

best team won but anyone could have coached that side sonya

congratulations to all trophy winners

The Mortlock Shield Div 2 winner getting a trophy was an idea of mine, we needed to add some interest to the Monday morning games and this is the perfect way to do it under the 7 team format. I dont see it as the 5th side getting a cup, I see it as the Div 2 winner. Congratulations Districts for winning the Coyote Cup!!

I thought the carnival ran pretty well besides the opening ceremony fiasco and I welcome any feedback you have on the facilities and any improvements we can make.

It has been talked about that Far West and Mid West might combine next year or Roxby/Woomera may enter. Another option mentioned was the same seven sides as this weekend but split City up into Souths/Waybacks and have Tasmans on their own to make 8 sides.

Does PL footy really need the Tigers, after last years efforts I'd say no. It's a bye anyway, might as well just call the day off and go fishing!![/quote]

Look

we need to male the carnival more competative, because at the moment whoever draws far west and KI gets a huge and unfair advantage. City are a long way infront of all other sides. If Tasmans being in their own made it more competative then we would consider it. It was mentioned but not by me mp.
Tasmans would easily beat fw and KI so I think we will look at the idea.

BTW what is your idea for the perfect Mortlock Shield competiton? Instead of bagging people why not post a positive thought on how we can get sides more competative.
