Mr Fuller, you are a bit harsh on Staples, OK he has been fumbly all season but the good parts of his game you seem to overlook such as his continual presenting as a target, chasing and harrassing and generally good kick for goals. With Grocke mainly playing at fullforward Staples has to play a position which he is slightly undersized. When Grocke and Salter reappear there will be less pressure and I expect him to perform well.

Agree ferret. Staple has often dropped easy marks he should take, and thought this may have been a beiief thing as he was finding his way in league footy, but shouldn't be happening now. In line with that, you'd be hoping he'd be getting 15-20 touches a week now rather than 10. So he has been down but not terrible like Jai Bednall described him in MMCM today.
Looking forward to having Fitzgerald or Salter at FF, Grocke CHF and Staple on a flank with a licence to run wherever his instincts take him between half-back and full forward, and marking balls on the flanks that Hall and Goldsworthy often seem to get caught contesting.

That's a rather large elephant waking up slowly in the room, hands up everyone who's looking forward to an elimination match in September with Godden's Golden Eagles? We need fifth spot and then watch the opposition choke it up, seems like a pleasant way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Now who's on the Choker Menu @ Footy Park Cafe,
No.1 everyone's favorite September delicacy Pussy Pie with Bay leaves ;No.2 Bloods Pudding aptly named re. suicide tendancies ;No.3 KFC leftovers ( 21 years since it was at it's best, but Darel Hart recommends! ) ;No.4 BBQ Blue Cat ( Chef Godden recommends fully tenderised (beaten by 10) ) No.5 Red BoarLeg is quite popular but usually only for the well to do, highly seasoned bordering on arrogant maybe due to Head Chef?
Apologises for No.6 Tweed Cap Trout ( Farm is in the hands of Receivers rumour has it ) and No.7 Maggies Pie Floater ( Subject of a Decade long share float to followers that needs someone who can sell sand to the Arabs! ) as both although very popular, just too unreliable to offer to the general public!
Personally, when in doubt go the old favourite and be certain to get our monies worth out of an Uncle Roy spare rib feast for all ( don't forget welfare card for discount ).
Love H78 :D

Gee we must be spot on here, not too many bites coming back so I guess no one wants a piece of the Eagles in September heh! Now all we have to do is squeak in there ;)

Maybe being one of three posting on a site is getting a little tedious.

Flying High - would like to keep a forward line of Fitzgerald, Grocke and Staple and use Salter at CHB. Salter is a much better user of the ball than Day and his kick can be penetrating. Could the Eagles have one of Vince or Knights plus retaining Smith for the match against the magpies.

Yeah, had been thinking about this, not so much this year, morseo if Salter was delisted and we had Fitzgerald, Grocke, Staple, Salter - plus Harding, I must have missed it, is he injured or left the club?
With that group, you'd probably have Salter at CHB, which would be rather ironic for most Eagles supporters.
Reckon after a coulpe of games at the Eagles Salter will be back in the Power team for an extended run to see whether they want to keep him.

No way would I play Salter in the backlines...

I see he is listed as Test this week. Hopefully he gets a game, possibly in reserves. The sooner he is available in our forward line the better off we'll be.
