Going to be a big day down at Pt Districts this weekend. Half way through the season and some upsets and surprises on the ladder. Portland will be looking at getting back that winning form and will be hungry after a big loss on the weekend and Districts im sure will be wanting to make up for the loss to Portland at the start of the year and make sure they can stay in the finals hunt after a slow start to the year. Will be great day down at Districts with all three grades having a hit out.

where are Club's at now after the pre-season expectations? Looks like a couple of teams have suprised with their ladder positions - interesting comp - is a division my country club keeps a close eye on for recruiting.

With teams at the halfway mark where do you think the 10 teams will finish? I had a look at Flinderspark Old Iggies at railways on saturday and flinders were way too strong. I see they have had backl to back 100 point wins now. Adel uni this week should be a big test with the other game of the round portland port districts what are peoples thoughts on these 2 games?

After much pre-season hype the fancied three, TTG, Uni and Districts are top 3 and should stay there. Eastern Park look certain to go down, the other 6 clubs are all a chance to make the finals. I'm tipping Modbury and Walkerville to make up the 5 with Iggies or PAC to get relegated. Wouldn't suprise me if Flinders sneak into the 5, they have been better than their ladder position suggests

I hate to say it but Im tipping district by plenty this weekend, the thunder may find the run home difficult.

Any truth to the rumours theres a few players not to happy? maybe just after a few losses the pressure is building but maybe Birdy coming puts to bed those rumours as he is the saviour.

He did play, I'm not sure how he went, but will be interesting to see if he stays or goes...Would hurt for the Parkers if he left as they attempt to escape relegation.

Interesting, he would have trained under Fuller at the Eagles when Fuller coached there in 2009 and it looks like Fuller kept in contact with him. Schwarzys a gun and great bloke too, did he train pre-season at the Eagles earlier this year?

Probably also played in the underage grades with current South reserves coach Terry Hutton.

Nic Schwarz absolute gun slotted in very well for south's reserves. Followed up after that game with a BOG performance for flinders.

on the Districts v Portland game, in my oppinion it was a pretty good game, appart from two small bursts from port districts when they pilled on goals, it was an arm wrestle, districts did a great job of keeping it Hidden that Ben Harren is playing for them (was on Sydney Swans list last year) about 6'5 athletic type than can take a catch up forward and in combination with Bubbles Johncock, Beeching & Catteral they have some good marking options that most sides will struggle to compete against.
also i thought the umpires did a good job miles appart from the previous week, its amazing how good a job they do when there ego doesnt get involved

We had a very well umpired game as well..... let the game go, naturally a few got missed, few touchy 25s but over all very good esspecially in a game with lots of tackling pressure from both sides.

I was pretty impressed with one of your young fellas, is it Savage? Only first year 18's too.
And what's going on with Prior's beard? That thing is in need of a trim.

Will be a great day at Pertaringa Oval this week when all four grades (A's-D's) face off - TTG v Modbury. D's - 11.00am C's - 1.00pm B's - 3.30pm and A's - 5.30pm
If the weather Gods are kind enough there should be a huge crowd which will be entertained by 4 excellent games of football between these two great rivals.

You would not want to be playing in the last game if it has been raining all day. :)
