They should just call it off now and have the game tomorrow. Instead they will wait and wait and wait until they eventually play 30 overs aside or some crap and have the result determined by some bullsh*t mathematic equations

This from the commentator on cricinfo

No sooner have we been told a tale of gloom, that the covers are again coming off and the umpires have appeared. It's still drizzling, though. Could it be that TV channels are dictating that the game ought to be played today?

This is so frustrating for everyone in Australia as they are staying up in the hope that the match starts ... and they know that if they go to bed then no sooner will they have done so that the rain will stop. Stay with it ...

We are told that there is a row brewing in India where people are angry because Mandira Bedi is sporting a saree that has different flags stitched on it ... and the Indian flag was near her feet and that is supposed to be an insult.

Now we are told a 12.15pm start and 38 overs a side. Believe it when it happens.

Can you imagine a world cup of any other sport accepting a reduced playing time?

Brazil v Argentina soccer world cup final...
Sorry lads, the pitch is full of snow, but we'll clear it in 30 minutes so you can play 2 halves of 30 minutes?

Couldn't agree more. 50 overs aside or don't bother.

We've got the World Cup and 20/20 in one here.

What a farce. Still, it's probably a fitting end to the shamozzle this tournament has been.

Well done Gilly though. Outstanding ....... glad I stayed up!

Gilchrist innings was worth the wait! Some of the best batting I have ever seen. Can't see the Lankans being good enough to score whatever total the Aussies chalk up now.

I put a tape in at 11:30 last night (long play), and woke up at 5:00, in time to change tapes and see the start of the Sri Lankian innings. I doubt I'll go back to bed now, I've gotta see this win (I hope). I'm looking forward to watching Gillies knock, 149 from 104 later, sensational, it has put Aust in the box seat to make it 3 from 3.

Tait and Watson have been a bit expensive.

It's gone from 1-7 off 2.1 overs, to 1-82 off 13, come on Aust, we need wickets.

at 1-7 from 2 overs, some would have thought so, but at 1-110 from 20 overs, no, it's not in the bag yet.
