Port Magpies 1870 to 2012 36 premierships

Central District 1964 to 2012 9 premierships

I think we are out of the shadows in our very short history.
SANFL 2000 - 2011 Central District 12 consecutive Grand Final appearances and 9 Premierships.

not getting involved in argument but remember when we joined the comp we joined against 8 other established clubs, no team would have won a flag in there first 10 years on that basis.

Port Magpies Powerhouses 1884-1999

Central Powerhouses 2000-????

So as a powerhouse for 115 years, in your view it seems as though I can look forward to your reply in 2115. We can settle the argument then. :D

I think its undeniable Ports (as my grandad called them) were the powerhouses pre 2000, maybe not in the 1800's i hear that was the only time Norwood were ever standouts and didnt play second fiddle to another club.

Slow and steady wins the race ... Really, really, REALLY ******* slow!! ;)

With the exception of maybe the 40's, Norwood have never had an era of dominance in the 1900's as far as Im aware .. Yet our record (whilst it's diminishing) stacks up pretty well against most oppositions .. Yet not as amazing as some of our deluded supporters seem to believe.

In the entire scheme of things, there's only two clubs that can beat their chests as to being the best and that's Port (pre-AFL) and Centrals (post AFL), as things stand today.

Struggling, in a similar manner to Centrals from '64 to mid/late 90's.

Who would replace bamford if he was to be sacked before the end of the season ??

Oh thats a great idea.

I'll start a poll on whether you post about your club or Port Adelaide more. I think I know the answer already though.

One day when you have 37 Premierships you can come out of our shadow.

I believe you'll find Port Adelaides shadow was repossessed many years ago. I look at the two dynasties

Port adelaides dynasty = died with Kurt cobain

Centrals golden dynasty = unsurpassed and current.

Must have been biting your lip all day...but I knew it would get the better of you and you would have to comment.

You ever won 6 in a row?

*Cobain died in 94....the year we started a 3 in-a-row, beating you twice during this.

Yep you've got me hook line and sinker. Let me guess that's the real reason this old thread got bumped.
Can't believe I've fallen for it again.

So down at oneclub. Which coach has the better excuses for underperforming in your opinion. Primus or bamford ???

Primes by a mile, no one expected the Power to be a force this year. Many people thought the Magpies could be genuine contenders.

Bamford would be on shaky ground.

So Primus is staying on. Excellent.

I think I speak for all doggies fans when I say we like Bamford as a coach I think he should be backed. Does anyone remember the days when port wouldn't lose 5 games in a year yet alone 14 in a row to the same club.

Me neither ;)

Nope. But the PAFC dominated the SANFL when it was the main competition in the state ie. before the Crows came in.

Up to 1990 was when the SANFL was at its best.
