Saw the results and most were expected wins but Portland after a slow start (6 goals to 1) looked like they played pretty well for the last three quaters.

Was a good game at districts.
Apart from the first quarter was very even. There A grade coach killed us in the first quarter around the stoppages, helphaving 2 quality ruckman that should be playing B grade give him first use definately went a long way to them winning the game.

What do you suggest ? the B's to have 4 ruckmen, they are in the C's because that's where they're picked not where they choose to play

I went down to Districts this weekend for a look and by the looks of the Districts two ruckman they dont look big enough to be rucking in a b grade side to me. In saying that though they did struggle on the centre taps but around the ground they were great. The one with orange boots was really good looking like he took more of the rucking duties for the day and was one of the best for Districts. Walsh came back from the B grade for Seaton and must have done alright in that game getting second best. Number 15 for Districts (dont know names sorry) in the last half looked like he was an extra man on the ground. I couldnt tell if he was playing up forward or down back but he was taking marks and cleaning up all over the ground. I think in the last 5 minutes he took 4 contested marks and a couple of marks from quick kicks out of defence by seaton. With Seaton having a few players come back from the B grade you could see them help settle the side but Districts too good on the day. Was a great game to watch and looked like it was played in great spirit.

Both of the ruckmen Iron Fist is referring to didn't play on the weekend. One was too sore, and the other had work. Both are experienced footballers who have played at higher levels. So the two that played on the weekend probably wont go through there again this year, much to the delight of Daniel Fisher who started there on Saturday. James Barns is the player with the orange boots, handy player at the b grade level, but hasn't been training so isn't getting picked.

You are actually allowed to drop players to the C grade champ. That would be my suggestion...

If the two rucks from the B's had have played that day, you would be making the same statement, that they should be playing B's.

A good quality C2 match at Jet Park yesterday morning, with the men from "Raggies" taking it right up to the young Jets. Promises to be another great clash if and when these two sides meet again in Finals. To be honest The Jets stole victory from the jaws of defeat and should all buy themselves a lottery ticket.

Raggies lead by Skurrie and Duigan dominated the Jets in play, particuarlly in the 1st half.

In the second half The Jets Captain, "KKD" nullified Skurrie's dominance kicking 2 goals himself from Centre and giving "Big Ben" a bit more of a contest. Jets Leading goal kicker Timmy Chatz kicked straight when the opportunities arose and that certainly helped. UMJ 12 6 78 to AFC 11 7 73 - A very lucky day for the boys from Jet Pk. Well done to both sides in what was a tough contest, played right down to the wire.

Probably won't rate a mention because there was no behind the play incidents, dodgy umpiring, assaults or all in brawls. Just good footy without any BS. 8)

Great result for my lads yesterday. Although we were very ordinary in front of goals a win is a win. The umpires were the best we've had all year. Fair and consistent and sometimes consistently bad but overall no complaints at all. Anyone from HV give an update on the big fella that went down in the game? It's never good to see that sort if thing go on. Hope he wad able o make it to his bucks show.
Anyone got a result from the Pembroke game? Looks like they strike again with not having the results up like everyone else has to.

I thought that was it. Ill stand corrected if i have this wrong but we were talking about this and thought if they pull the pin this week then we have a bye for the last game of the year which is not good at all. How many times can a side do this (not asking about the rules) they did this last year and the year before. If you cant get a side on the park each week then dont put one in at the start of the year. I know they must have plenty of coin to splash around but it doesnt help the rest of the teams in that div. Sorry but it just gets to em when this type of cr@p happens. To us lesser types in the port we love to play each week. Might not get the full 25 but we still have a crack at it.

Yeah, completely unorthodox, but he definately does'nt miss too many. Timmy is away for 5 weeks not the best timing, but hey what can you do....time for somebody else to step up and kick a couple.

Now you're back...you'd slot in quite nicely at FF in that side! And have at least 6 games to catch him. Now that would be funny. =))

Has Pembroke named a side for tommorrow? With 1 chance left you would hope for the club and comp that they do field a side.

After pulling the pin twice and now coming up against a side like Districts tomorrow? I dont think so. Will be hapily corrected tomorrow afternoon but when a side lke POS only fill sides when they play home its not likely they want to drive past our place and coninue deeper into the peninsula ;) <edited - poor taste dude>. I hope they dont because that means we get a bye for the last game. Great for Dist. I have no idea why they were placed into this Div this year anyway. They pulled the pin a couple times last year and didnt have positive results before that so this is where the new div has hurt some clubs. Its not just their club its all the teams in the same div that need to deal with the problems.

Portland are definatelly a force to be reconned with, played hard contested footy, 6 Jets players busted their guts all day and the rest were passengers. Portland had a full squad working for each other and as you say WANTED IT MORE! Well Done Portland, see you in September.
