Cheers Catch.

Great win for us over Golden Grove. Didn't look that way at the start of the last when GG had kicked 6 or 7 on the trot and we were 2 goals down with the immovable object at full forward plucking everything; the bloke has a ridiculous pair of dukes.

Umpires were good, just like I'm sure they were in the 2's.

Good win by Unley over us Saturday.
We had them on toast and couldn't finish it off!!!
May have been a different story if we applied more scoreboard pressure when we controlled the first part of the 2nd quarter
Played well in the 3rd to get back up and felt a good run on when we kicked the first goal in the last quarter

They strung a couple together and our emotional energy was spent after fighting hard to get back in it
We definatley had the game their to take though
Both sides were reduced to essentially no bench for the last quarter.

Game was played in very good spirits. A small incident in thew 3rd quarter saw some aggression after a free kick but nothing in it really.

Very very deflating for the GG boys. Two losses in two weeks sees the double chance slipping from us
Our depth has really been tested with 5-6 very good players out. But all sides would be missing some at this time of year

Rumours circulating on the SANFL boards and around Unley Oval on Sunday that Paul Cahill has left Sturt. Is he registered with Scotch OC? nice handy 0 pointer one would assume just before finals....

Paul Cahill is just not playing the last 5 games for Sturt for 2012. He hasn’t left the club. Scotch OC registered and put in a clearance (from Blackwood his junior club) as a longshot on June 30. He is cleared to play for Scotch OC but apparently he’s not interested.

Let that be a lesson to you, Port Adelaide Sturt. & Norwood You don't beat Glenelg in Grand Finals and get away with it.

I wouldn't have thought having a brother in the side is qualification to be a 0 pointer

Come to think of it I don't think they would have many players that would attract points anyway.

There has been a Paul Cahill that has been named in the Scotch C3 team for this week, is this the same Paul Cahill?

If this is the same guy this is where the extended bench in the C grade comp is used not as it is intended, surely if this guy is not playing at Sturt he plays higher than C grade, I would say he wont play there but be put on the team sheet each week till finals to "qualify". IMO a player should actually take the field to have a game qualify. Cant say for sure this is what is happening but seems like it to me.

Would be rough on a kid to miss out on finals for a bloke who had to be put on a team sheet when not playing to qualify. Particularly if he isn't injured but just isn't interested in playing right now. Would want to put in a top performance if it happened.

Smart by Scotch if you ask me.
If there is even a tiny chance you could get an SANFL player to play finals.... why wouldn't you qualify them?
As for the kid who misses out - had chances to seal your spot. You are player 70 on the list.

Bloody oath; especially with the chance to go up, which club wouldn't play him!
Tough luck if you're the player that misses out....you should have got more kicks when you had the chance.
You might be doing a diisservice to 1 player by playing him, you would be doing a disserving to the rest of the club by not playing him.
However, Paul clearly has little to no intention of playing for Scotch if he does not play this week (unless injured).
People in this div don't rate Scotch highly enough IMO, they have the most gun/dangerous players of any team in the div.

Smells like brown stuff to me
Feel sorry for the bloke missing out who obviously means nothing to the club at the expense of naming some bloke who "obviously has no intention of playing for them"
Sometimes your club just has to have some standards and stick to them....

You are given an extra player on the pine in finals. "Technically" not an issue. Play on!

I would qualify them, but they would need to actually play is my point. I would suggest he would not even be at the C grade game let alone on the field.
