Something is going to have to happen soon as Eastern Eyre only need 1 more club to chuck the towel in and they are stuffed.....

Imagine the uproar if the shoe was on the other foot.

Time to act people.

Any thoughts on which teams will be in the new footy competition kenwhelanfan?

Initially a five team competition :)
and if the mining industry doesnt bring some significant employment to the Lower Eyre Peninsula
then probably an additional three teams from GF.
I am not trying to be political but there are probably one or two clubs up there that are hanging in
with pure pride and hard work.
To my way of thinking its very simple: Footy is a sport for all to enjoy, all of us have a right
to support, participate and adjudicate without fear of threats or intimidation or indeed actual
physical violence.... theres nothing racist in that.

6. Tumby
7. Cougars

8. United Yeelana or Bostons?

Could be both but I think UY Eagles would struggle and one big problem is
we would have to get Netball on side to get this venture off the ground.

yeah you would need netball, but also maybe getting your leagues clubs to adhere to the simple rules like getting a club to sign clearance forms before you play them. that type of thing get swept under the carpet in your league, where in ours, it's points taken away.
never say never but i hope it's a long way off and really, do you guys really want to come all the way out to kapinnie? you would have to hire a bus, or 3?

DJD, with regards to the clearance forms and such, it appears your league has cajones. let them run the comp, not the PL muppets.

yeah, understand. we really have no idea what strain that club would have on the leagues officals and comp in general. it would be tough.

I wouldnt bother travelling to watch a game and I am sure most players in Port Lincoln wouldnt want to travel that far. It would have to affect participation levels.

I would have thought Lincoln teams would only have to travel 3 maybe 4 times a season under that format to Cummins/Tumby, I would have thought it could be a good day out by clubs

We are talking down the track, time wise I still think that there will come a time when Lock will either
go north or fold and Eyre United or United Yeelanna will fall by the way side.
How many footballers at Cougars live in the district? plenty of them travel from Lincoln,Eyre United, Ports
are the same. If you want to play you will have to travel.

and we would work well with Wanilla Rangers but I am talking the PLNA as a whole. There would be sides that would have to fold or merge. Do Waybacks, South or Bostons have any netball alliances that could work?

I may be wrong here, but isn't there already a Waybacks Netabll Club, Bostons Netball Club and Souths United Netball Club??
