With the finals a week away and the top 4 finalised does anyone know whether the first week of finals will be played saturday or sunday and is anyone going for a home final?

As FC has put it all of the C grade finals are played on a Sunday. The GF is normally on the Saturday in the early format (10:15). I think a game on a Friday night especially a final is not to my liking too much. I would prefer the Sunday. There are only two sides taht can pitch for the home final in the first wek. I hope like buggery as an example for us we can get the home final. Ive never been a huge fan of neutral grounds if a club has earnt the right to host a final. Completely dependant on scheduling of other things of course.

Is it definitely top 4 in this div? I thought it may have been but wasnt sure. I guess that means the gf will be a week before all others.

Top 4? I thought it continued as top 5 even though there was a change to the teams before the season started.

From info given i think it reverts to a top 4 if it had 8 or less sides in the comp.

I think the post meant that the top 4 is decided already and they are the sides who can determine where the finals will be played (home finals or not) and I think that's what he was asking. Are the sides who can host finals - 1st, 2nd and 4th - going to? That's how I read it anyway.

Looks like we can't lose 2nd spot, I'm fairly sure we'll put in for a home final. Currently our 18's are 2nd so if it stays that way we would probably play a home final before their final on the Sunday.

Saying that though the Juniors still have another round after this week so the oval may be unavailable

Will your 18's start earlier. We came up against this scenario before and we thought the 18's could start a little earlier and we started at 3pm/3:15. Worked out well. Golden Grove had no issues with it last year.

Well its the last of the minor rounds and i must say its been a great year of footy. Good competition and not too much dominance by one side. It seems that the changing of the guard has occured for top spot honours in 3-4 weeks time. Districts have certainly turned their season around form finishing bottom last year. Unley after the merg has had good results but a big loss and then again to the 2nd top side, are we seeing kinks in the jet armour? Athelstone have jst kept on keeping on. After a bit of a different loss to POS a few weeks back (what side did POS play?) they sem to have steadied a little. My lot have had a good turn around. So many changes as all sides in C grade do btu we have been punshed by injuries higher up. To finish 4th after sitting botttom has been a huge effort. We will only go as far as we want to so its up to the boys now. Adel Luth has had a bit of a funny season. Bad press against Seaton differing results. I do however think that this weekend will be a real test against HV. Hope Valley started off really well and for probly the same reason as most injuries and commitments have made ot a tougher year. Very competative early on and looked like the team to beat. Recent form has seen that turn around. I cant see Lutheran beating them this week on HV's home deck. Pre Elimination final for those two. POS Well im not going to say anymore to be honest. Seaton: They have had a tough year. I speak to their coach regularly and i dont envy his position. Its always hard to see when you have an opposition side rock up with no more than 15 and the look on their faces. Bit rough. Pooraka have struggled in this Division whoch i think is testimant to how the Divs were organised at the start of the year. I said back then it will take 2-3 years to really get sorted out with promotion /relegatione etc. They are also a great club that still fornted up when they knew numbers were low. Unlike other sides in some divs this year.

This Week:
HV vs Adela Lutheran - HV by 6-7 goals
Seaton Vs Pooraka - Seaton by a handful
POS Vs Portland - Even though the positions are set this is still a big game
Dist Vs Athel - Districts way too easily here
Unley Bye then another week off next week.

Kinks or chinks....more like a HUGE DENT in the Jets Armour!
Port Districts are the Real Deal.
Athelstone are not far behind,
Portland can clearly mix it with any side on their day.
And never underestimate Hope Valley or Adelaide Lutheran - anything could happen and probably will.
The Jets may just make up the numbers.

Don't know if all the C2 Finals will be on a Sunday.

I'd probably be more wary of Portland than Athelstone, Darth Demon. I havn't seen Athelstone this year yet though, I'll find out tomorrow.

Just on what Satchel brought up about Hope Valley, they were top of the ladder after 6 or so rounds weren't they? Massive fall from grace for them.

Hope Valley were never top, lost at least first two games if not three.Lost a few players on the way but have been smashed with injuries like most sides.Haven't been able to cover the key position players that are out,and even last night still trying to fill up the 7 interchange players. To their credit have stuck at the task and a final would be a good reward for a tough season. With Luthies both Div 5 reckon they have performed pretty well against the higher grade C grades

Sorry they were second with great percentage after 6 rounds.
As long as youve got a couple on the bench you're doing fine I reckon. A n B grade sides manage it alright, some not using their bench at all!
But yea the D5 clubs are doing quite well coming up against clubs in higher divs.

How do you have a B graded depleted due to injuries, but not the C grade?? Jetters thinks it smells iffy.

He may be referring to the bloke who kicked 12 goals, who has gone into the 1's this week in their do or die clash against Modbury which determines who makes the 5

Our B grade have not been doing so well over the past few years. The C grade has only got back on track in the past 2 years. You could look at it the way you are or the way most are. Our B grade are trying to blood the young troops and give them a crack at senior footy before they are actually seniors. A lot of the time you loose those 18's when they become seniors due to culture or just lose interest. We have done this really well this year and its a testimant to our B grade coach. Also for the first time in a very long time we have had old players or those away at the mines etc just wanting to have a kick with mates. The quality of those players have been good for us at times but no means iffy. I dont think you guys are going to fall by the way side after such a good season so far. Agreed Dizzies are the team to beat. Anyone that has earnt the right to play finals can shake it up. I dont see any team in the 5 that will be there just to make up numbers. SHould be a great finals series.
