As it was right in front of the bar I had a good view of it.
I dont know the young lads name but Dusty said he was only 17 years old. White and the lad tackled Keatley and the umpire called a ball up on the 50 meter arc. Everything seemed fair and all players got up and were waiting for the ball to be thrown up when a charging Kelsh at full speed charged from the goal sqaure and hip and shouldered the lad in the middle of the back while he was unaware and layed him out. The lad had no idea contact was coming as the hit was from behind.
I am not sure why Muzza would do that. Maybe he saw something in the tackle earlier but no one else in the vacinity had a problem all players were waiting for the ball up. A small melee followed and Papazoglov sent Muzza off!!
This was in the last 15 minutes of the game and Muzzas frustration may have also been because he hadnt had a kick all day!!

Congratulations to Lincoln South. Well played & too good on the day. Mallees won't be looking forward to playing them in the Prelim.

Perfect conditions yesterday and gate takings were good. The canteen and bar taking were up also compared to a normal semi final.
The a-grade suprisingly ended up one sided and no doubt Waybacks had a day to forget but Lincoln South were impressive on the flip side.
Waybacks couldnt stop the fleet footed Eagles who have snuck under the gaurd a little bit here. I may have under estimated them but I still dont think they can beat Mallee's in the prelim. I thought Richard was a little bit negative with his coaching and trying to shut the game down didnt work. Stop start football and tagging opposition defenders just sets a negative attitude from the outset imho.
Former champions Goodwin, Kelsh and Cragg-Sappsford were completely unfit and not worth two bob on the day. I thought young Montgomerie was the only demon player who could hold his head up.

Huge game this week to see if the Peckers can push the premiership favourites and put a stop to this dynasty they are creating.

I didnt see the Kelsh incident on Dunn but talk at HQ after was that it was a low cowardly act from behind and that even came from a wlm.

prelim final yesterday at elliston

elliston 13 .13 = 91
central eyre 9 .30 = 84

the roosters kicked the last 4 goals of the game to take victory. young tommy rumblelow was terrific in the last quarter standing up kicking 3 of those final goals. weather conditions perfect for footy with not a breath of wind in the second half. the bulldog boys in the end kicked themselves out of the game.

b grade - wirrulla over central eyre
colts - central eyre defeated wudinna

next week grand final at wirrulla

A- west coast hawks v elliston
B- wudinna v wirrulla
Colts- west coast hawks v central eyre

Well played South, too quick & too good. It was amazing how similar the game was to their clash a month ago. Both were Even 1st qtrs, South get away in the 2nd & both games have a 10 goal win.
Cant help but think Waybacks carry on during the week did not help their cause at all. They were worried about events from the week before when their focus should have been on finals.
The game was very well umpired too, but the old Redleg supporters always think they are hard done by!

I'm pretty sure the Waybacks players wouldn't have given a rip about what happened during the week.
Id say its had more to do with the club administration and all you jokers on here.

Souths better on the day

I am sure there is more to it steakn. The demons should have requested that their supporters and players give Footy SA a miss until after the finals. They were distracted this week and obviously the comments on this site by iron knob, captain cook, and kenwhelanfan grew legs.

These 3 posters derailled Waybacks season and should take the blame for the performance on Saturday...

I refer to my comment of six weeks ago Souths have given us trouble all year
particularly their pace.
A fantastic day for the game and on a firming track the South youngsters went in hard.
Young John Sinclair smashed the ball out of the centre.
Backed up by the youthful Jericho at CHB.
Great crowd the league would be well pleased.
Looks like Lako has benefited from his time in Adelaide gee I bet the Rangers would have loved
to have had him in their stables seeing his Dad and Grandfather both played out there.

I am suprised Richard didnt mention how good it was to play a final on his 'home ground' after his comments all season long. Perhaps he forgot or ran out of room.
While on that note will Waybacks be matching Lincoln Souths $10,000 pledge towards the grandstand at their 'home ground' or will waybacks just not use it?

I believe that Waybacks have withdrawn the charge against Jack Bascomb.....
a good decision and a win for common sense.
Looks like Tasmans should have six available to come back in this week
so plenty of competition for spots, which is what you want at this time of the year.

Is this true??? I was talking to the league this morning and the charge was still pending .... or was the charges withdrawn this afternoon?

I would hope that commonsense would prevail.

A club can only refer an incident...the PLFL investigates and determines if charges should be laid. Ergo only the PLFL can withdraw a charge.

So if waybacks wanted to withdraw the charges the league could still go forward with the charge.... ??? I think waybacks have decided to forget 2012 and move onto next year!

At the danger of feeding the trolls: As you probably already know, WFC made a pledge over 12 months ago to assist with the Centenary grandstand. We will write the cheque out when we are notified that the money is required. Some people and organisations choose to keep a low public profile regarding their assistance towards various worthwhile causes in the community.

And this is where this whole messy incident gets even further murky. As a club can only refer the incident to the League, the onus is on the league to investigate the matter and determine if it is likely to be upheld at tribunal.
Both the semmler and bascombe incidents were investigated by the PL:FL and deemed appropriate to go to tribunal. Both cases then virtually thrown out before they were heard????
Who from the PLFL did the investigating??? Maxwell Smart??
