A couple of favourite memories.

James missed two early shots on goal at noarlunga a few years back. And Chris let him have it at quarter time "you can't kick mate " with the expected "buck off and shut up" reply from James. Players form a semi circle as Roy starts to address them. Chris is on one side "you can't kick" James is on the opposite "buck off and shut up" and it continued for the entire quarter time address. Roy laird never missed a beat .
Apparently the week before James kicked 4 straight whilst Chris kicked 1.3 and James had let Chris know about it all week. So fair to say Chris was waiting to have his revenge.

Celebrating in Tower bar at west end brewery after 2007 gf watching replay of the game. I was speaking to james and Richard "cant" Williams about god knows when We get interrupted by buckets mckenzie. "You boys have to see this" and points To the screen. We see James chasing after Mr Schubert and about 5 seconds later smack. Biggest cheer of the day from everyone (including umps) whilst James just sat down looking very very sheepish and abusing buckets.
My other memory was James knew he would get 3 games that day. Eventhough he hadn't faced the tribunal yet :-).

Funnily enough, the Gowans / Schubert incident will be what I always remember also . ;)

Don't forget that it was South who steered them to Centrals. That decision is up there with the best of them.

Will be sad that the final time they walk of a football field will be to a half full members stand and not the race at Elizabeth Oval.

Have 2 blokes had a bigger impact on a sporting club? Single handly kept the SANFL in the main stream media for both good and bad.

I was an official the night they punched on with each other at training because one called the other fat. Sladey and Evil had to break it up and Sladey finished with a shiner.

Agree with some that they may have gone on a season to long but judgement cant be truly made until after this finals series. What odds on them going out with another schubert!

Very long odds I'd say, unless they get hit behind play first.

What a sad, sad individual you are.

Well done to the twins hated them etc etc great players etc etc, they'll be missed by all lovers of the SANFL for very different reasons.

It's only the one twin, he was just really quick back in those days (actually I have no doubt they'd be just as quick with their hands today lol).

That picture probably would have caused outrage if it wasn't Clemmo on the receiving end, given he was a little partial to handing out a few of his own.
