Rumor has it the loan fee is 5 million plus 3 million in wages. Going to cost Liverpoo 8 million for the year.

Yes, Loans are a bit of a scam IMO. Clubs just buy a heap of players with no intention of playing them and then get another club to pay their wages until they decide they want them back.

hence why i have stated on numerous occassions, loaning out players is stupid -

We want you to play for us, but not just at the moment, in a few years time. So go out and play for another club whilst a better player plays in your position for that period.

To me if you are transferred into a team/club then you should be given a chance to prove yourself, then if you are rubbish or not suited, then be sold

Agree Bully, perhaps there needs to be a legitimate squad cap to prevent this. At the moment it is capped at a squad of 25 but you can add unlimited under 21 players so you get the bigger clubs having 40 players on the books. Maybe cap each squad to 30 or similar

I think the loaning of players is a win-win-win situation.

1) the loaning club gets valuable game time into their player without shouldering the weight of the wages
2) the player is doing what they are employed to do which is play and not sit on the pine waiting for an opportunity
3) the club receiving the player fills an obvious gap they have and also see whether that said player fits into their structures and style. Try before you buy almost.

It seems that all Stoke want to do is loan players...

Tom huddlestone from spurs
Maurice edu from rangers

Although we just bought Geoff Cameron, a US international defender... We could do with some quality attackers though IMO
I am not talking to you for 3 minutes because you punched me in the head and it hurt and that was not okay for you to do

i agree with all these, my issue is, clubs buy players, then loan them out. Its telling them, we want you, but not at the moment. go and play somewhere else, whilst another player plays in your position, when he doesnt suit us, then you came come back. Its like being a second choice

According to the BBC website, Southampton has agreed an £11m fee for Gaston Ramirez of Bologna.

That'd be a huge signing if they can land a deal there; especially when clubs like Juventus and Liverpool were chasing him.

here is an even bigger rumour..... Cesc Fabregas - rumours that he has hinted a return to Arsenal, maybe not this transfer window, but Januarys window

but why would he transfer in january, and miss the champ league, as if he plays for barca, then transfers, he cant play for us in the champ league, so maybe not true

Liverpool desperate for a prolific striker, would love to see it happen .. Sadly though with all the work done to reduce our wage bill, can't see it being us :(

I've read some suggestions about Del Piero too, both of those two would be better than getting Owen again. Not sure the fans would like to see him return either.

Big BIG rumours, cesc fabregas is near on the verge of walking from Barca, as he is apparently not getting a shoe in there with the new coach -

Cesc : " I came here to compete, to learn and enjoy, not to sit wracking my brains

I dont watch the spanish league so not sure if he is getting a game or not

He has started every League game so far but isn't happy about getting subbed off, only lasted 60 minutes last game. He wants to play 90 minutes every game which just isn't going to happen at Barca.
